"The hotel is just a metaphor," a bellboy informs us in this amusing ad for streaming service Now TV. It's a neat way to illustrate the amount of content users can access, and the hotel itself is appealingly distinctive in a Wes Anderson kind of way. Let's hope the unusual guests he encounters don't forget to tip - there's something a bit sinister about this chap.

No sign of what exactly is happening in Sweden, mind. The programme asks how scared we should be of Trump's administration - should make for some relaxing evening viewing.

Sure enough, we see children and adult-sized bunnies exploring every nook and cranny in search of chocolate treats. Colourful product shots clash with the monochrome home footage, thus allowing the supermarket's Easter fare to stand out even more.

Drivers are encouraged to heed the call in this slick Audi Q5 commercial as a sharp-suited wanderer samples everything from dingy tattoo parlours to unspoiled countryside - with the advertised SUV proving the ideal vessel. A snippet from Cliff Martinez's 'The Neon Demon' score gives the ad a pulsing, urgent quality.

Now these hungry sorts can tuck in knowing the brand are all about doing things in good taste. 2AM's resident foodie Jason Lowe ensures the brand's zest for good grub comes across loud and clear.

A female VO channelling Tilly (Sally Phillips) from 'Miranda' spits out evey modern piece of vernacular known to copywriter as she describes the marvellous effect of a new medication combining paracetamol and ibuprofen. Of course, the same effect can be achieved for a fraction of the cost by taking one of each sourced from a supermarket own brand packet.

Another short burst of poetry on behalf of the Nationwide, this time from the aptly-named SugarJ Poet. It's an abbreviated version of a 90" we've previously featured on DAVID and acts more as an aide-memoire than as a piece in its own right. But it strengthens the aggregate of a campaign we're coming to like more and more.

Parker from Thunderbirds wins 500,000 in Halifax's prize draw and knows exactly what to do with the money... head to a tropical island where he can get away from the orders being issued by Lady Penelope. Let's hope he hasn't ended up on Tracy Island as he may find he's leapt from the frying pan only to end up in the fire. Brimming with authenticity.

We never thought we'd use 'antibiotics' and 'song and dance' in the same sentence, but there's a first time for everything. This NHS ad has a dark strain of humour running through it as we watch numerous antibiotic capsules snuff it. The meds encourage us to think twice about using them needlessly with a rather, erm, infectious ditty.

A penguin at a railway station is handing out smart devices to his own kind in a bid to illustrate how millions of people have chosen British Gas's technology to help them take firm control of their central heating. These devices are pretty cool but you'll use them to adjust the temperature more often in the first week than you ever will again.

It's been filmed to offer a sense of intimacy which helps to make it feel as though it's an option for grown-ups but you still can't help wondering what advantage it holds over the competition.

The broadcaster taps into how the annual Aintree meeting captures the nation's imagination - and turns us all into racing savants. Form goes out the window when it comes to picking a contender; instead, it's all about "their colours and their funny names".

Tesco Mobile follow last year's entertaining montage of holiday foibles with these minor domestic calamities. Dick van Dyke's 'Put on a Happy Face' accompanies such incidents as a blender eruption, a Lego demolition job, and a bedroom sight that cannot be unseen. Thanks to a bright script, the carrier makes a chirpy bid to become part of the family.

This KFC ad reminds us that age doesn't guarantee wisdom. Jim and John are travelling along a country road when the latter tells the former not to risk the tight squeeze ahead. Boss knows best, of course, and it results in their own removal van being, well, removed. So kind of the roadside recovery truck to bring some KFC for the pair, eh?

In each case, the ad seeks to demonstrate that the tablet is more powerful and business-like than you imagined but - this being Apple - it's all presented in the smarty-pants tone they favour.

A heart-warming tale of parental devotion is used to illustrate the support offered by HSBC when you need a mortgage in a hurry. The protagonists are a father and daughter who rise early each morning so the former can get the latter to the local swimming pool for her daily training session. It appears to be an eye-wateringly exhausting regime but they are each dedicated to it and they plough on despite the tiredness.

To illustrate how the advertised car is the perfect size for the city, this neat commercial focuses on some of the things that aren't. An outsized chandelier and an enormous garden statue demonstrate the perils of making the wrong choice before more prosaic comparisons are drawn. Historically, cars with these properties have been aimed at women but we assume Ford were keen to show this vehicle is big enough for a male driver.

B & Q's spin-the-bottle approach to appointing advertising agencies has made Leo Burnett the latest custodian and this film is the first TV work this new relationship has produced. It's a modern take on sibling rivalry as two boys roughly the same age are thrown together by the coming together of their parents.

The latest instalment in VCCP's campaign for Nationwide featuring young poets is a really moving piece of work. Filmed just twenty-four hours before it was broadcast, it has Laurie Ogden articulating the feelings of Gavin - a young man from Belfast - in a specially composed poem for Mother's Day.

There's a very strong idea behind this irreverent commercial for car rental company Sixt and it grabs your attention with both hands before nutting you in the face with it. A funny script from Grey London gave the directorial team an awful lot to work with and they largely deliver: Keith and his new wife are on the money but mum and dad are a tad stilted.

We're going to forgive this its talkative voiceover explaining every little thing because it can't have been included on the broadcast commercial as it was made for the French market. Besides, the rest of it is really rather good. A couple sets sail through adult life when they purchase a cliff-side house and their journey is rendered into an impressive metaphor through some convincing VFX which redefines the notion of a house boat.

Nissan have decided to appeal to the slightly niche target audience of those shopping for a new getaway vehicle. A young couple are shown stealing a suitcase and using the Micra to escape via a very scenic desert, stopping only for a quick posing break. The car will be an "accomplice" for those who choose to drive it... though more likely an accomplice on trips to the supermarket rather than dramatic car chases.

Another mysterious challenge which looks as though it was issued on social media (but almost certainly wasn't) is flatly contradicted by a documentary-style commercial. This time daffodils are in the spotlight because 'Samantha' doesn't think Lidl's look as though they'll last longer than a couple of days. Au contraire, you fictional mischief-maker... they'll last way longer than that.

According to this ad for Aldi, the average mum only gets seventeen minutes to herself each day. So, one way of demonstrating your appreciation on Mother's Day is to give her a couple of hours of peace and quiet... as well as a hand-finished card, a glass of wine, and a slice or two of roast beef.
