UK Estate Agents

A man receives some mind-breaking information while visiting the in-laws in this amusing Purplebricks ad. He's told that Purplebricks are more than just some online outfit - crucially, they don't charge the commission required by their high street counterparts. This revelation causes the poor soul to seek some (very loud) alone time in a nearby cabinet.

This funny ad deals with the phenomenon known as 'commisery' - the realisation that you've spent money on estate agent commissions which you could have saved if only you'd known about Purple Bricks. The humour here is both slapstick and dry, as a woman wordlessly slams her face into a cake when she realises her property mistake.

"Muffins"

A strangely creepy chap tells us how Sarah - who was full of great advice - really loved his muffins. His wife bustles about smiling indulgently. Is muffins a euphemism, we wonder? But then we discover Sarah was their estate agent at Purple Bricks, and has moved on - she's now sweet talking the neighbours. We imagine they're desperate to get away from the Muffin Man.

"German Techno"

Despite their raft of local estate agents and property experts, comedy has typically proved to be beyond the grasp of Purple Bricks. This latest execution shows the online property website still have work to do as an over-enthusiastic householder attempts to catch a Purple Bricks man's attention with German noise and cooked sausage. Still, wise move tacking on a five-star Trustpilot rating at the end.

The Purple Bricks duo finally escape their appropriately-coloured purgatory and get some much needed fresh air. They give the floor to this customer as she explains how satisfied she was with the website's tailored approach. How satisfied? Commissioning a portrait of her local property expert riding a unicorn - that kind of satisfied. Sure the grandchildren will be chuffed with that family heirloom.

Brian Sewell can rest easy after this display of art criticism from the Purple Bricks duo as they glean a lot from the sight of their framed logo, cramming in references to their ability to help local landlords through their team of experts. There's a lot of talk, but still little to convince us to ever "chuck" our keys to them.

"Way To Go"

More... ahem, banter from the tieless duo as they continue to promote the online estate agents in front of a wall. Armed with a tablet, the chap on the right takes a suspiciously quick amount of time to provide positive testimonials about their landlord services. Maybe his miraculous device will help them find a way out of this purple dimension they're trapped in.

"Eve"

Estate agent Kevin explains to, er, the other guy that their property expert Eve isn't ignoring them - she's just preoccupied with her customers' wellbeing. Going by the worried frown on her face, she either thinks her customers are on the brink of imminent disaster or she's hopelessly out of her depth and trying to conceal it by randomly tapping a tablet.

"Used To Be Estate Agents"

15 Apr 2014
The oddly-named Purple Bricks is an online estate agent which seems similar in service to the well-established housenetwork.com. Two chappies tell us what makes them different to high street branches while a supposedly suave "property expert" wanders around behind them with a clipboard. Apparently the men's wives would like him. So there you go.
