In an instalment of Capital One's March Madness campaign featuring even more star power than usual, Gloria Gaynor makes a cameo as a flight attendant when the usual suspects decide to recreate last year's car-aoke. The real marvel here is that this was the best take they could get from Spike Lee, who seems to have something of a mental block when it comes to song lyrics.

Charles Barkley, Samuel L Jackson and Spike Lee (who also directed) are sitting down to watch an unspecified sports game and eat snacks together, as always, when Charles decides to bring out his new invention, the 'snack hoodie'. They share a bit of banter, some very enthusiastic laughter and general good times, all while helping themselves to the crisps from the mountain spilling out of Charles's hood.

So far we’ve seen the Capital One dream team of Samuel L. Jackson, Charles Barkley, and Spike Lee enjoy themselves on a plane; now they’re watching the big game at Barkley’s gaff. Alas, Barkley still thinks a Clapper switch is the height of technology. Jackson and Lee aren't impressed, though it's good to know there's always a party going on in Barkley's head.

Samuel L. Jackson, Charles Barkley and Spike Lee return for another series of ads focused on the merciless ribbing which denotes true friendship. Having upgraded to air travel since Capital One's last March Madness campaign, the crew chow down on some in-flight grub... until they realise they're missing out on a once-in-a-lifetime pun.

As the UNHCR‎'s recent film highlighting the Refugee Olympic Team showed us, Rio 2016 is aiming to unite countries during disunited times. And this commercial celebrating Syrian Yusra Mardini's journey to the Olympics is unquestionably inspiring. Knucklehead's Siri Bunford does a super job of reminding viewers that this is the young woman who used her swimming prowess to rescue a dinghy full of refugees and connecting her heroism to her Rio exploits.

Turns out we were wrong to assume the world's elite athletes have a fleet of luxury transportation waiting to take them to Rio 2016. In fact, they have so much energy to burn, they're happy to make the trek to Brazil by any means, be it running, swimming, cycling, or - like the stars of this entertaining Visa commercial - carpooling.

Even though there's a football tournament going on just now, MBNA's workforce stay true to their geekiness by displaying some bottom-of-the-group ball skills... not that it fazes any of them one jolt. While other companies may try opt for style for substance, they know where their true talents lie, and that's in providing customers with all manner of credit card expertise.

Foolish Napoleon, damning the British as 'a nation of shopkeepers'. Because there are no shopkeepers without shoppers - and what defines us as a breed, says Barclaycard, is not our humble status as purveyors of products but as a people who know what they want and will pay to obtain it, whether it's an out-of-hours pickle or a designer dog coat. We rock.

MasterCard promote their sponsorship of the recent Olivier Awards with a bumper paying tribute to the production staff who ensure the show goes on. Subtle and intelligent, this spot by Juan Cabral promotes Visa's sponsorship of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. Cabral's ads have the intensity of a great movie condensed into a minute and a half or less - and the depiction of decathlete Ashley Bryant as he prepares himself for the performance of a lifetime is superlative.

More in-car shenanigans from the Capital One crew as they continue on the road to March Madness. Charles Barkley's place in the NBA Hall of Fame comes under serious threat when he encounters the change bucket at a toll booth. Will his buddies Samuel L Jackson and Spike Lee provide the moral support he requires? Of course they won't.

More in-car shenanigans from the Capital One crew as they continue on the road to March Madness. While many of us would be content with a nickname like "Sir Charles", Charles Barkley thinks it's time for a new moniker - a perfect chance for Samuel L Jackson and Spike Lee to come up with their own creative suggestions. We imagine more near-the-knuckle sobriquets reside in the out-takes.

Unless you're one of those people who always end up at the wildest parties in town, the chances of catching Samuel L Jackson, Spike Lee, and Charles Barkley singing along to Rupert Holmes's 'Escape' (aka The Piña Colada Song) are slim to none. Luckily, Capital One have got you covered as the trio's March Madness road trip takes a musical turn.

This ad for Rush Card has a few elements competing for our attention, but still leaves us entertained. A classically straight-laced spokesman tries to espouse the benefits of the advertised card while sharing the set with a soul singer and a disloyal director. A nice little dig at the creative differences that can occur on a commercial shoot.

Defeat at the hands of Manchester City means Everton's Ross Barkley won't be lifting the cup sponsored by the advertised insurer this year, but Capital One will be thankful for his contribution to this online film. Told from the player's POV, the ad charts the midfielder's rise from bored youth to star for both club and country. The gang use showmanship and the office's ample supply of lamps to give the launch of the Everyday Plus card some razzmatazz. Their magic show may fizzle out before the end, but it's all part of the charm as the brand underline where their expertise lies.

The now very-familiar sound of a drum roll reaching its Whiplash crescendo makes its presence felt in this spot for Visa / Apple Pay. As the build-up intensifies, a staccato series of scenarios plays out. At the drop, everything resolves itself; and inbetween the Apple Pay app acts as a catalyst. It's smart and slick, but at the same time it does suggest that there's a degree of apprehension as to whether the app is going to allow a successful transaction or not.

The 'we do what we do and no more' approach has been used before, but it's an idea worth returning to as it always offers an opportunity to have some fun - and that's exactly what director Jim Gilchrist has done here. The geeks who make sure that the credit card is everything you'd want it to be may be heroes of their own algorithms but they're not much good at anything else.

Was this the moment Dan Carter was surprised by his old team mates? Because it really doesn't look like it... you'd think he'd notice the camera crew in the corridor and wonder what was happening, wouldn't you? It may seem pedantic but it's only one aspect of a piece of filming that lacks emotional impact because of a lack of authenticity.
