Cadbury
"Christmas Commute"
60s
16 December 2016
UK Chocolate

It's day sixteen of Cadbury's advent calendar and a girl is determined to transform her mum's "nightmare" commute into something spectacular. She takes charge of decorating a train in time for the morning rush hour. Sure enough, the train arrives on time with plenty of Christmas cheer. We guessing this wasn't shot on a Southern train, then.

Cadbury
"Christmas Tree"

5 Dec 2016
Day three of Cadbury's advent calendar grants another Christmas wish. All this lad wants is a Christmas tree his remote village can be proud of; no wonder he's taken on the role of official tree picker. Thanks to the chocolate maker and a little adult help, he delivers a boatload of festive cheer. Timely publicity for Dartmoor Christmas Trees, too.

Cadbury
"Lights"

1 Dec 2016
Cadbury have created a festive cadvent calendar (gettit) which will see the brand release a new clip every day until Christmas finally arrives. The first day sees a young boy fulfil his wish to decorate his neighbours' house with Christmas lights - since they're too old to string the bulbs up themselves.

AXA PPP
"Gymnastics"
30s
25 Nov 2016
AXA PPP claim they're the insurer with a speedier approach in this gentle ad. This woman benefits from fast track appointments, ensuring she's fit to lift her little champion gymnast at the end. With everyone's time at a premium these days, AXA's offer of timely healthcare may well prompt further investigation.

Cadbury Roses
"Cheerleader"
1 min 33s
10 Oct 2016
More 'gratification' from Cadbury Roses as the chocolate treat pays tribute to a cheerleader with boundless enthusiasm for her pastime. Zoe Rutherford coaches an eclectic cheerleading squad, who feel their teacher merits a spectacular thank you. Another personable piece of work from the brand and Dark Energy's David Stoddart.

Milk Tray
"The Return"
90s
8 Oct 2016
After the likes of Thom Evans, Joey Essex, and Barry from Eastenders failed to make the grade last year, fireman Patrick McBride is the new Milk Tray Man. This cinematic ad sends the latest incarnation of the Cadbury icon to the Altai Mountains. There's no time to enjoy the view, however - this is a Milk Tray Man on a mission.

Cadbury Roses
"Referee"

9 Sep 2016
Cadbury look to establish the 'gratitude' motif for their Roses chocolates in this sweet online film celebrating one of life's unsung heroes. Director David Stoddart excels at hidden camera work and here he's achieved a similar level of authenticity... arguably, too much so as everyone is slightly too awkwardly British.

Cadbury Double Decker
"Love Rival"
30s
7 Sep 2016
This is a lovely piece of naturalistic whimsy. A lad's sweet tooth overrules his heart when a giant Double Decker constantly distracts him from asking out a girl, even though he's clearly been building up the moment for a while. Well-timed song bursts and great performances - coaxed by director Ric Cantor - give the brand's 'Obey Your Mouth' campaign the lift-off Cadbury would have been hoping for.

Skoda Fabia
"Colour and Music"
30s
7 Jun 2016
Skoda must be a blast at the local DIY store's paint mixing counter. The car manufacturer show they mean business when it comes to colour schemes with this ad promoting the Fabia's multitude of tonal options. Not content with pleasing the eye, the brand also chuck wallet-friendly incentives in with the Technicolor spectacle. Odd that the music factor is left unexplored, mind.

Cadbury
"Big Taste"
30s
9 May 2016
While Cadbury's new campaign has garnered some reasonable chuckles from animal antics plucked from YouTube, it's fair to say it hasn't really forged an identity all of its own until now. Thanks to one man and his dog, the chocolate makers have an ad that is resoundingly Cadbury. What you see is what you get: a grizzled biker with a pooch riding along in the sidecar.

Cadbury
"Dog and Cat"
20s
18 Apr 2016
Cute as this inter-species massage is, this spot for Cadbury Medley bars feels a tad opportunistic. Maybe that's because Youtube-style clips have been employed in quite a lot of ads in the past year and this approach doesn't deliver the same impact anymore. Having said that, there's no denying the fact it has a big 'aah' factor and conveys a sense of unexpected luxury.

Cadbury
"Bear in the Woods"
30s
4 Apr 2016
Having memorably enlisted the services of a drumming gorilla in the past, Cadbury continue their joy-centric campaign with the help of a bear finding its own happy place. Satisfying that oh-so troublesome itch by rubbing against a tree, the bear's subtly edited workout is accompanied by KC and the Sunshine Band's 'That's the Way (I Like It)'. Us humans can supposedly find the same gratification in a chunk of Dairy Milk.

Scottish Power
"Your World"
30s
14 Jan 2016
There's an agreeably warm atmosphere to this Scottish Power ad depicting a family simply getting on with life over the course of a year. Big events like Christmas and birthdays come and go, while the little events that make a house a home are just as important. Meanwhile, Scottish Power present themselves exactly how we want our energy supplier to be.

Cadbury
"December 2nd"
20s
9 Dec 2015
Having watched Cadbury's fleet of advent trucks leave the depot at the start of the Christmas ad cavalcade, the brand wants to give us an update on their progress. Here, the people of Bath are enjoying the contents of 'window' number two - a giant sprig of mistletoe. Looks like enough fun was had to drown out any "bah, humbugs".

Cadbury
"Advent Calendar"
60s
7 Nov 2015
Controversy over sultanas being added to Fruit and Nut bars aside, Cadbury show they've got truckloads of Christmas spirit with an articulated take on the traditional advent calendar. A welcome burst of the 'Thunderbirds' theme scores valuable retro points to boot, though motorists will be hoping this lot doesn't hit the road at the same time as the Coca-Cola fleet - that would make driving home for Christmas very difficult indeed.

Skoda
"ITV Mystery Drama Bumpers"
60s
14 Oct 2015
Good production values help make these bumpers drawing attention to Skoda's sponsorship of ITV Mystery Dramas engaging mini-thrillers on their own. Various tense goings-on involving Skoda vehicles reveal themselves to be of a rather more mundane nature than we're led to expect. Keep an eye on that pug, though - we think he might still be up to something.

Benecol
"A Little Push"
30s
12 Oct 2015
This attractively made spot for Benecol marks a new direction for the brand; taking it away from animated illustration into the world of naturalistic CGI. A squirrel drops pine cones: a visual cue for the VO to explain that it doesn't always take much for something to fall - such as cholesterol levels, which can come down with the help of pine nuts.

Milk Tray
"The Search"
30s
12 Oct 2015
The Milk Tray man is back! That is, for those of us who remember him. One of the original polo-necked chappies who used to swing in through windows and slalom through doorways to leave a box of chocs for an admired laydee has climbed out of whatever ravine he's been stuck in for decades and is urging men across the nation to be his successor.

Cadbury's Marvellous Smashables
"Salon"
30s
7 Sep 2015
An attractive-looking ad for Cadbury's Marvellous Smashables has a retro-look hair salon going bonkers over the chocolate in question, which is designed - as the name suggests - to be smashed rather than snapped in order to share it. The ad gets its message across loud and clear, although it's hard to understand the appeal of pounding chocolate with your fist.

Asda George
"Switch-Up"
20s
3 Aug 2015
Schoolchildren with a healthy dose of attitude show how there's an option for everyone with Asda George's range of back to school clothing. While parents might take umbrage at these kids just chucking their clothes on the floor, the ad has an engaging visual conceit that the delivers the brand's message with a decent amount of zip.

Alzheimer's Society
"Connection"
40s
18 May 2015
This powerful spot for the Alzheimer's Society opens on a voluble family meal, where everyone's adding their bit to the conversation. The grandfather's joining in - we can hear snippets of exchanges - but when his granddaughter interrupts to show him something on her phone he loses his thread... and we realise all is not well.

Cadbury Puddles
"Bring Me Sunshine"
60s
18 May 2015
Fallon's latest offering for Cadbury offers further proof that the confectionery company has rediscovered the joy of joy. A stuffed toy duck attached to the grill of a lorry doesn't, it would seem, have much to be joyous about but it finds a way. Accompanied by Morecambe and Wise's rendition of 'Bring Me Sunshine', it begins to see moments of happiness reflected in the puddles it sees from its unedifying viewpoint.

Yollies
"Weird Gorilla"
30s
2 May 2015
This is close to being a really distinctive ad - we love the weird hippie gorilla, especially his delivery... but the rest of the spot lets it down by being too conventional. The giant lolly leading a team of young explorers is too much like its predecessor the giant Cheestring for anyone to sit up and take proper notice, although perhaps that continuity (the 'Brave Bones Club' etc) was considered necessary (it really isn't).

Asda George
"Spring Summer"
30s
27 Apr 2015
This engaging animated ad for Asda George sees a woman leap between magazine spreads, snapshots, and sketches to show off the range of fashions available for the discerning shopper this spring/summer. The music complements the action and overall this does a good job of reminding punters inclined to buy their clothes from the advertised retailer that there's some new clobber available there.

Cadbury Dairy Milk
"Spoons"
30s
16 Apr 2015
Deadpan performances delivered directly into the camera raise this well above what it might have been and as soon as we find out which director to lavish praise upon, we'll do so. A pair of dinner ladies grab some spoons and begin providing an accompaniment to 1990s hit 'Get Ready for this'. If the duo seem expert then that's because they are... indeed, one of the two women, Marylyn Campbell, has been playing the spoons for thirty-six years.
