Adidas
"Creativity"
30s
7 Feb 2017
Adidas unleash their creativity in this 30s ad championing 'more than hard work'. Starring supermodel Karlie Kloss and athletes Candace Parker and Becky Sauerbrunn, among others, the action-packed film builds on the brand's 2016 'Here to Create' campaign and reinforces the idea that creativity, along with hard work, is necessary to push the boundaries of sport. An intriguing concept and compelling visuals really hammer the message home.

Xerox
"Brother Dominic"
2 mins
8 Jan 2017
This short for Xerox is sumptuously cinematic in its sweep, with each detail and element lovingly considered. From the moment it opens on a remote monastery overlooking a rural idyll, it's obvious this is going to be something special... and it doesn't disappoint. The action focuses around Brother Dominic, who is creating pages of an illuminated manuscript with laborious care.

Open University
"What's Stopping You?"
30s
10 Jan 2017
The Open University appeals to those sitting on the fence about their futures. This lot decided to take the leap by studying with the advertised institution, allowing them to learn, grow, and eventually earn. The ad is pacy and positive, though the campaign arrives at a tricky time for the OU. Will staff unrest and tutorial centre closures concern potential applicants like these?

Iceland
"The Giordano Family"
30s
4 Jan 2017
The irony of this seasonal volte-face isn't lost on us, as Iceland entices with healthy food the same family who - a few short weeks ago - they were plying with prosecco and party nibbles. Now it's all low-calorie quinoa and Slimming World pasta salad to ring in the January hangover. Happy New Year, indeed.

KFC
"Brexit Nativty"
60s
5 Dec 2016
This commercial for KFC certainly has the 'huh?' factor. So much so that - on first viewing - it prompted a lot of puzzled faces and a certain amount of head shaking. But the idea of a traditional head teacher being thrown by one of her teacher's politicisation of the annual Nativity play has grown on us. It's an ad of our time.

KFC
"Unrequited Love"
40s
5 Dec 2016
The Colonel narrates an unexpected love triangle in this ad for KFC. A pair of geriatric lotharios who caused a stir in their retirement home fighting over a 'fine young filly' are reconciled by their mutual fondness for KFC. And a good thing too, because their fair lady was busy "mutton-busting" another chap while they slugged it out, the floozy.

Carphone Warehouse
"Christmas Elf"
30s
1 Dec 2016
It seems Carphone Warehouse sank the last of their budget into their Dubai-based ad, because Keith Lemon is in markedly more restrained surroundings for his Christmas outing. It's not exactly Lapland, but the malfunctioning lights and shabby backdrop are an inspired move and create a fitting end as the globe-trotting campaign returns home.

Iceland
"Party"
30s
28 Nov 2016
The Giordano family put together a ten-person party at the speed of light thanks to Iceland's frozen party food range. It's a diverse spread - sushi, macarons, and chorizo on the same table - and the ad takes a cheerful, conversational tone which makes the most of the subject matter.

NIO
"Circuit Paul Ricard"
3 mins 14s
29 Nov 2016
One of two films from electric car maker NIO demonstrating their engineering prowess. The Circuit Paul Ricard's vivid track hosts a record-breaking drive from racing driver Nelson Piquet Jr. Meanwhile, the NIO design team provide insights on how their calculations translate to raw power on the tarmac. Science and speed in perfect harmony.

NIO
"Nürburgring"
2 mins 30s
29 Nov 2016
Germany's famed Nürburgring has been at the centre of a F1 storm recently with the circuit's owners unwilling to host next year's German Grand Prix. Luckily for racing fans, Chinese electric car start-up NIO puts the track to good use by test driving their EP9 supercar. Fluid visuals and aggressive sound design sell this eco-friendly car's power.

KFC
"Difficult Daughter"
30s
28 Nov 2016
The Colonel brings feuding families together with KFC's first Christmas Burger launched in the UK (featuring no turkey, weirdly). Kids may throw tantrums and teens may bring their obnoxious boyfriend along for the ride, but peace and serenity can be restored for the price of a burger - it's a Christmas miracle.

Subway
"Festive Feast"
50s
17 Nov 2016
it's the morning after the office Christmas party, and you have The Fear - what was photocopied? Who was snogged? Will those pics of you and Ken... Len... Ben?... get sent to your entire friends list? Happily, Subway has the answer - a nice chunk of protein to kill the hangover and help brace you for the inevitable walk of shame back to your desk.

Sky Store
"Own It"
30s
15 Nov 2016
Idris Elba continues to flex his considerable charm on Sky's behalf in this latest ad for Sky Q. He tells us that, as with movies, we can now buy and own our favourite box sets three ways; popping up in various scenarios to illustrate this - including in a hot tub filled with tablets. The minimalist bling of the set design ensures nothing distracts us from either him or his message - smart.

McDonald's
"Mexican Stack"
20s
9 Nov 2016
A woman misguidedly attempts to start a Mexican wave in this ad for the last of McDonald's globe-trotting limited edition burgers - the Mexican Stack, available for two weeks only. Someone ought to tell her about the British attitude to commuting... not likely to get any participation there; just a loud tut and the disapproving rustle of a newspaper at most.

Currys PC World
"Christmas Lights"
30s
3 Nov 2016
One of two droll Christmas ads from Currys PC World showing how far we’ll go to draw attention to the items on our festive wishlist. In this, a family gathers round as dad prepares to switch on the Christmas lights. He’s delighted with his handiwork, but their excitement quickly fades when they see the lights pointing to next door’s living room - and the LG 4K Oled television within. Oh, and one very confused neighbour into the bargain.

Littlewoods
"Christmas Walk"
40s
3 Nov 2016
The Littlewoods Christmas ad encourages us to get some fresh air with attitude on Christmas Day. There's a lovely 'tooling up' sequence as everyone steps out the door in style. With their thick jackets, Beats headphones, and lightsabers, nothing can halt this festive swagger... until another family emerges from around the corner. Some textbook British awkwardness rounds off this entertaining effort.

Leo Vegas
"Milk Bottle Orchestra"
30s
1 Nov 2016
The natural musical talents of the lion-headed man introduced in the previous ad are showcased in this delightfully odd piece of work for Leo Vegas mobile casino. The message is to 'find play in the everyday', whether that's indulging in some inadvisable online gambling or... this. We know that cats like milk, but this is a whole new level of dairy appreciation.

Babbel
"Tiny Whale"
30s
31 Oct 2016
Just as the English-learning version of this ad satirised period dramas such as Downton Abbey for colouring the world's view of Britain, Babbel send up Amélie here for their French course. This 30s ad has it all: cryptic dialogue, existential musings about the metaphors in mundane things, and some lovely visual call-backs to the film involving heavy fringes and coquettish glances. And even a British bloke who manages to avoid making a fart joke about the sound of a ketchup bottle... c'est bien.

Babbel
"Messy Dress"
30s
31 Oct 2016
Babbel send up period dramas and the rest of the world's perception of Britain in this funny ad for their language-learning app. Two elegant ladies in Edwardian costumes daintily sip tea and gossip about a high-spirited young relative who wants to play freely and not conform to the staid social norms - a well-constructed play on tropes - when a modern-day man appears and shares his own comments about the young lady's unbecoming commitment to free will.

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare
"Space"
60s
28 Oct 2016
You wait ages for a futuristic shooting game with lasers and two come along at once. After Titanfall 2 released its full-throttle trailer last week, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare unleashes its own balls-to-the-wall ad with a topical bent. With many feeling 2016 has taken the biscuit on the bad news front, the gaming giant suggests a practical solution: go to space. Despite the violent context, one can’t help but think Buzz Aldrin would approve of the sentiment.

Causes
"Sinking Ship"
3 mins 06s
25 Oct 2016
However promisingly they start, not all relationships work out - and Causes uses the apt metaphor of a sinking ship to remind us which way the less successful ones are headed. In the accompanying promo, memories of a couple's wedding day are cut with hints of their growing dissatisfaction with each other... and their realisation that a break-up will be apocalyptically life-changing.

Samsung
"School Report"
3 mins 08s
21 Oct 2016
This film is a compilation of some of the bloopers and outtakes from Samsung's campaign around the Olympics this summer. Jack Whitehall is at his funniest unscripted, trying - and failing - to learn to behave like an Olympic athlete. Particular highlights include the wee man annoying Bradley Wiggins. No swans were harmed in the making of this ad... we hope.

Freesat
"Trophy"
30s
18 Oct 2016
This wry Freesat commercial demonstrates how the satellite service plays a very important role in these customers' lives. One places it above every accolade and trophy she's ever won; another thinks it provides better entertainment value than his musically-inclined children; and why would this couple pay for marriage counselling when there's subscription-free telly?

John Cooper Clarke & Hugh Cornwell
"Johnny Remember Me"
3 mins 23s
18 Oct 2016
Poet John Cooper Clarke and former Stranglers frontman Hugh Cornwell have joined forces on an album of cover songs. This version of John Leyton's 'Johnny Remember Me' is driven by Cooper Clarke's earthy vocals and a galloping beat. Cornwell's guitar twangs wouldn't feel out of place on a Western soundtrack, yet they add a wild element to this sombre ditty.
