Hellmann's Mayonnaise
"Sustainably Sourced Oils"

28 Mar 2017
"Sourcing our oils sustainably" doesn't exactly roll off the tongue, does it? Still, this latest Hellmann's ad does a lively job promoting the mayo's eco-friendly credentials without skimping on the food. Parent company Unilever have pledged to reduce the environmental impact from its brands, so it seems Hellmann's are bang on message.

Pizza Hut
"Film Awards"
30s
20 Feb 2017
Pizza Hut capitalise on the Oscars build-up with an Academy Awards-adjacent ad. Never mind a lifetime achievement award - the real big deal here is the pizza chain's any size, any recipe click-and-collect deal for under six quid a pop. The guitar-driven soundtrack makes the whole thing sound a lot more exciting than ordering pizza is likely to be, especially in contrast with the glam awards shots.

Comfort
"Clothes"
30s
2 Feb 2017
This animated ad for Comfort has a woman's clothes coming to life and excitedly discussing the date she's just been on. The sweet smell in the room isn't from a romantic bouquet of flowers, however - it's the lingering scent of Comfort Intense. Cue her fellow garments enthusiastically leaping for the laundry basket to get equally synthetically fragrant too. Quirky, but effective.

Pizza Hut
"Dino"
30s
5 Jan 2017
Never mind your career-defining double hat trick, Dino - the real big deal here is Pizza Hut's £14 delivery deal. This ad is cheerful and the right side of daft, suggesting the January diet might have to go on pause for a large injection of junk which comes complete with free online TV passes for sport or entertainment. Well, twist our arm.

American Express
"Moon"
70s
2 Dec 2016
American Express remind us of the excitement of air travel with the help of a precocious astronaut in this well-crafted ad. When the moon appears on the departure board, the girl imagines she’s preparing for lift-off. Forget leg-room and duty-free - her flight is all about zero gravity and cookie asteroid fields. Thank goodness she has good armrest control.

Comfort and Rogue's Tom Barbor-Might present this enlightening tour of Boring, Oregon. Unilever
"Goodbye, Old World"
50s
1 Sep 2016
When asked, most brands will assure us they're working to make the world a better place. In Unilever's case, they're dedicating plenty of air time to make the point. This latest film communicates how the corporation's brands are each playing their part in improving quality of life across the globe. The script could have done with a more natural delivery, but the attractive visuals do a good job of emphasising the scope of Unilever's mission.

Philips
"A Little More Action"
4 mins 08s
18 Aug 2016
An amateur Elvis impersonator is given assistance by the Dutch electrical company as he embarks on a mission to get fit and improve his tribute to his hero in this engaging piece of content. The elephant in the room is Elvis Presley's famous bloatedness which, arguably, offers the protagonist the opportunity for a more accurate show simply by eating freely (and often)... but that wouldn't suit the core message.

Comfort
"Genie With A Bottle"
10s
14 Jul 2016
Is it just us, or does Comfort's genie sound more like Count Dracula rather than a jovial granter of wishes? Regardless, this 10" ad sees the purple one released from his golden container to inform us of Comfort Intense's "long lasting luxury" from just a drop of the stuff. A fair proposition for parents, though we fear children expecting their very own genie are in for a disappointment.

Rachel's
"Book Club"
20s
4 Jul 2016
Three women sit around in a pristine kitchen eating Rachel's yogurt while ostensibly discussing a tome for their book club. If any book club we belonged to only had three members and featured leaden titles like 'Tears From Tomorrow', we think we'd stick to describing yogurt too. But maybe they're just easing their way in, and next time they'll be dissecting Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie's latest over a pot of Greek-style Lemon.

Dove
"My Beauty, My Say"
90s
4 Jul 2016
The standard of Dove's advertising varies wildly, succumbing at one end to the pseudo-scientific guff that is the last resort of pointless products, and putting forth sage insights into the perception of female beauty at the other. This, however, simply lays down the gauntlet with its collection of awesome women taking ownership of their own looks without compromise.

Persil
"Monster Stains"
2 mins 15s
5 May 2016
This utterly captivating little film is a really inventive way to demonstrate the power of Persil. An illustrator paints images onto 340 school shirts which, sped up, form a motion-picture story. However, these are no artist's paints. The colours he uses are made from the things that stain our clothes and which tend to be a pain to wash out. Clever indeed.

YouTube foodie DJ BBQ is on a mission to convince a gang of non-grillers of the joys of introducing meat to fire. Our host may be off the 'rad' scale, but his enthusiasm for all things grilled is captured in an enjoyable fashion.

Pizza Hut
"Much Better"
30s
23 Mar 2016
Hot on the heels of its 'Big Deal' ad in which life-changing events pale into insignificance compared to Pizza Hut's special offers comes this little gem. A customer with a leg in plaster has so much confidence in the new pizza seasoning that he reckons it must improve just about anything... including broken bones. Lovely idea with lots of potential - it'd be good to see the humour pushed even further.
