UK Estate Agents

We rejoin a house-hunter channelling Zoopla’s knowledge of the property market in this 10” ad. Now he demonstrates an unconventional method of testing broadband speed: pinging a rubber band at a nearby estate agent. Hardly foolproof, but the oddness of these scenarios work in the online property outfit’s favour.

"Shaft Spoof"
40s
17 Sep 2016
It's very nice of Engine and Peter Cattaneo to combine forces to bring us this rather sweet (and very English) take on the theme from Shaft but - as is often the way with commercials funded by bodies that have nothing to sell - it's a bit pointless. It takes nothing away from the execution but it's almost impossible to imagine this fuelling anyone's desire or willingness to switch bank accounts.

Just-Eat
"Egg"
40s
16 Sep 2016
A sad half-cracked egg voiced by Bill Nighy leads a succession of people through their takeaway dreams in this new ad for Just-Eat. It's the latest in a series of changed approaches and the lack of a discernible strategy inevitably gives rise to the possibility of client chaos. But - however they got here - this works.

NSPCC
"Party"
5 mins
20 Sep 2016
Much of this film rings true. In a bid to remind teenage girls to trust their instincts, it depicts a very believable scenario as an innocent party is spoiled by the arrival of a young man with sexual designs on a young teenage acquaintance. The devil is in the detail. It's in the face of her young male friend when the newcomers arrive and it's in their pushy attempt to make him 'one of them' by pressing beer on him. It's in the girl's effort to juggle the contrasting demands of two sets of friends. It's in her willingness to lie to her mum about who she is with. But most of all it's in the pervading sense of doom Dan and his friend bring with them.

Sprintathon
"Marlow Marathon"
2 mins 13s
12 Sep 2016
This may be bonkers but it's also extremely charming and it moves along at such a pace that you barely even notice more than two minutes have passed before you get to the end. It introduces us to Dr Glenneth Benson who is a "sports scientist to the stars" and he explains how he's organised an attempt on the world record for a relay-run marathon.

Ted Baker
"Mission Impeccable"
3 mins
8 Sep 2016
As this has gangster geezers in it, you probably won't be surprised to see Guy Ritchie's name attached to this commercial. Directorial duties have been farmed out to collective Crown & Owls but Ritchie's 'working man as seen by posh fellows' vibe is very much present as we discover how Ted Baker helps to achieve 'mission impeccable'.

National Lottery Euromillions
"Drip"

8 Sep 2016
Do the newly minted receive a pamphlet entitled: "How To Be A Multi-Millionaire"? For example, changing a light bulb's one thing, but how about a priceless chandelier? Like 'first world problems' gone mad, this amusing ad for the National Lottery Euromillions highlights the minor foibles that can accompany a jackpot win.

National Lottery Euromillions
"Parking"
30s
8 Sep 2016
One of two entertaining ads from the National Lottery Euromillions showing that the transition to multi-millionaire can be tricky for some. In this instance, parking a luxury yacht in the marina proves to be far more difficult than nabbing a space at the supermarket car park. Lovely back and forth work from the couple encountering one of the pitfalls of being stinking rich.

Short Films
"Wasteland"
3 mins 20s
5 Sep 2016
This atmospheric short film from director Laurie Lynch examines post-apocalypse loss in lyrical fashion. Deep in the woods, a fragile community aims to make this emaciated world their own by hunting and foraging. For one survivor, existence is made all the more difficult by the death of a loved one - and the landscape provides painful reminders at every turn.

Miike Snow
"Pull My Trigger"
3 mins 22s
23 Aug 2016
Miike Snow's follow-up to 'Ghengis Khan' is as poppy and infectious as its predecessor - so it made perfect sense for director Ninian Doff to create a follow-up promo too. 'Pull My Trigger' features the same cast as before, but in an alternative conflict... this time there are nukes rather than giant lasers.

Churchill
"Diva Soft Top"
30s
15 Aug 2016
This Churchill campaign continues to anthropomorphize vehicles and in-car paraphernalia in charming fashion. A glamorous cabriolet is used to the finer things in the life, so she's understandably peeved at breaking down on a country lane. Still, she does catch a glimpse of that tasty 4x4 from up the road... even if Churchie's less than optimistic about her romantic prospects.

O2
"Goslings"
60s
15 Aug 2016
What's so very lovely about this campaign is the way it ticks all the boxes on the brief... and then turns them into living, breathing creatures with irresistible cuddle appeal. This ability to transform abstracts into tangibles is pretty damn rare, and VCCP are the go-to alchemists in this realm. Not only does the message come across loud and clear that O2's coverage is strong, it also suggests it's adorably focused on you.

Aldi
"Trolley Hunk"
20s
9 Aug 2016
Aldi continue to add a taste of Rio 2016 to their tried and tested advertising formula with this commercial featuring a hunk in trunks emerging from the ocean. Ably assisted by two Brazilian dancers, he compares two trolleys worth of shopping with the advertised supermarket coming up trumps on price - though he's soon distracted by an unlikely rival in the battle of the beach bods.

Temptations
"Don't You (Forget About Me)"
2 mins 43s
9 Aug 2016
There will come a day when cat videos fade away, but today is not that day - not if Temptations have anything to do with it. The brand has become synonymous with work inspired by internet virals in recent times, and after their Elton John-scored Christmas ad, they now turn to Simple Minds for this beautifully realised tale of a cat yearning for attention from his material girl owner.

Short Films
"48 Hours in Shetland"
63s
3 Aug 2016
This evocative short film captures the atmosphere of Shetland; the strange juxtaposition of remoteness and stillness with the rugged intimacy that life on such islands offers. Snapshots provide an impressionistic vision of the place: the temporary shelter housing what appears to be artwork; a young woman's long hair blowing in the wind and echoed by rivulets of water running down the rocks at the foot of a cliff.

Flash
"Dog"
30s
1 Aug 2016
It's no mean feat stopping us from automatically tuning out from a Flash commercial, and this respectably daft tribute to Queen's work on 'Masters of the Universe' grabs both the eyes and the ears. An erstwhile muddy dog and his owner give it their best Freddie Mercury to communicate the brand's comprehensive cleaning properties. Good, clean fun.

RAF
"Get Far Fast"
60s
1 Aug 2016
Having worked wonders for the Royal Navy in recent times, WCRS look to the skies as the Royal Air Force aim to persuade capable youngsters that a vocation with a difference awaits. This pacy launch film follows nineteen-year-old Ellie as she transforms her prospects from the ground up. It's a formidable working environment, but a skyward glance is enough to remind her and her colleagues what the effort is all about

Aldi
"Rio De Jeaneiro"
20s
29 Jul 2016
The simple ideas are the best - and Aldi demonstrate they know this full well with a superb little spot that takes us back to their favourite character. The delightful granny who came to our attention when she expressed a preference for gin over tea returns... and this time she's in Rio, as a nod to Aldi's status as a sponsor of Team GB.

O2
"Used Phone"
60s
29 Jul 2016
This super piece of work advertising O2's second-hand phone scheme pulls out all the stops in its effort to catch our attention. It's another opportunity for directorial duo Si & Ad to show off their increasingly confident flair and the extraordinary effort they've put into this suggests there might be something in the 'buy one get one free' conceit when it comes to directors.

Carphone Warehouse
"Dubai"
60s
27 Jul 2016
This latest ad for Carphone Warehouse starring the globetrotting Keith Lemon sees the Celebrity Juice host in the decadent sprawl of Dubai - and it's clear the capital of the United Arab Emirates has plenty to draw Lemon's eye. Like a bearded kid in a gold-plated candy store, Lemon is constantly distracted from finishing his spiel for the brand by all manner of twenty-four carat excess

BT Sport
"Split Screen"
40s
1 Aug 2016
BT Sport showcase their football portfolio for the upcoming season with this eye-catching ad promoting the broadcaster's domestic and European coverage. A kaleidoscopic montage of goals, tackles, and fan reactions emphasises the wealth of fixtures available to subscribers during the 2016/17 campaign.

Enertor
"The Journey"
43s
7 Jul 2016
Usain Bolt narrates an uplifting account of his journey to sprinting glory in this ad for Enertor insoles. Dramatic music builds as Bolt takes us through some of the challenges he faced along the way, visually represented in a series of picturesque vignettes. Bolt's presence in an ad like this, even the sound of his voice alone, has the power to create a real sense of anticipation.

Nando's
"Napkin"
50s
28 Jun 2016
Another execution from the new campaign for Nando's which cleverly aims to bring a slightly more ambitious diner into their outlets. This time a young couple use napkins to make themselves look more posh which is a great way of using comedy to draw attention to the chain's slightly more upmarket offerings.

Nando's
"Fino Platter"
40s
28 Jun 2016
Earlier this year there was much hilarity on social media as Americans tried and failed to understand the concept of "a cheeky Nando's". The owners of the chicken restaurants must have enjoyed it... not least because you can't buy that kind of publicity. Neither can you buy a place in popular culture and Nando's enjoys this as well. It's the "turn to" reference of comedians like Jack Whitehall when they want to invoke a certain kind of dining experience.

Kopparberg
"Dancer"
60s
21 Jun 2016
The Swedes have a rhythmic concept of clocking off, particularly those who work at the Kopparberg factory. As the temperature rises and many of us find ourselves wanting to slink off to the nearest beer garden after a hard day's grind, this arresting commercial for the cider encourages us to partake in the rhythm of life whenever and wherever possible.
