Domino's Pizza

UK Pizza Restaurants / Delivery

Domino's assure us that all their pizzas are handmade in this amusing ad. Various vignettes suggest what a pizza factory might look like, featuring industrial dough-squishers, tomato sauce paint rollers, and a toppings cannon which we'd quite like to have a go on. All this before revealing that the secret to their handmade pizzas is - drumroll - hands.

Leo Vegas
"Double Vegas"
90s
21 Feb 2017
It turns out that Leo Vegas is such a vast online casino it needs not one but two brand ambassadors. We're already familiar with the suave yet faintly menacing lion... and now another familiar visage joins him. It's the perfectly-named Johnny Vegas - and boy, what a bonus he proves to be. Having "bigged it up" in the audition, he finds himself slightly out of his depth - and we can't look away.

E4
"Celebs Go Dating II"
60s
31 Jan 2017
This entertaining trail for Celebs Go Dating reminds us that true love can be hard to find... even for the rich and semi-famous. The likes of Hollyoaks star Jorgie Porter, dancer Perri Kiely, and Joey Essex (returning for a second series) encounter various obstacles in their quest for that special someone. Lovely end gag involving premature cork poppage.

Tetley Tea
"Awesome Woman"
30s
31 Oct 2016
Tetley tap into the current superhero craze with this ad for their Super Tea range. This caped crusader returns to HQ in dire need of a cuppa. Luckily, her chief boffin has a healthy pick-me-up waiting. It's a playful shift from the brand's traditional brews, while there are some fun touches nestled throughout - film buffs in particular will be pleased by a faint Wilhelm scream in the background.

Sky Bet
"The Many, Not the Few"
30s
23 Aug 2016
Some visual jiggery-pokery from Sky Bet cleverly underlines the betting platform's 'more is more' approach when it comes to offers. Preston North End's Joe Garner scores a wonder goal in an empty stadium only for the rewind button to place him and his fellow players in a more familiar setting. Smart use of the Sky Sports archives communicates how punters have more to play for in the present.

McDonald's
"Summer of Good Times"
60s
17 Aug 2016
Come rain, shine, or a maddening combination of the two, McDonald's aim to help foster lasting memories of summer with a range of community activities and stunts. This ad features some appealing outdoor photography as punters young and old enjoy themselves whatever the conditions, while select items from the restaurant's menu are shown to be the ideal accompaniment for such carefree antics.

Lotto
"James Blunt"
40s
16 Jun 2016
Known here at DAVID HQ as "the campaign that keeps on giving" for very good reason, Lotto's superb series of celebrity caricatures returns with serial balladeer and thoroughly nice chap James Blunt outlining his jackpot masterplan: to make everyone feel beautiful by appearing in their mirrors.

Eastenders
"Peggy's Last Goodbye"
50s
8 May 2016
EastEnders like a cinematic trail, and as Barbara Windsor bids a final adieu to Peggy Mitchell, the soap have treated the occasion with due reverence. To the sound of 'The Last Goodbye' by The Kills, the Mitchell matriarch observes both loved ones and the scars of old scores amidst the hustle and bustle of Albert Square. A classy send-off for Queen Vic royalty.

We've now seen The National Lottery's Katie Price 'KTV' channel in various guises since it launched last summer, but the concept manages to lend itself well to the bumper format. With each ad break for Britain's Got Talent, we get a glimpse at what a Katie Price-laden schedule would look like, including sports reporting that makes Alan Partridge look a broadcast heavyweight.

Gousto
"Chicken Teriyaki"
30s
23 Feb 2016
How many times have you wanted to make a recipe but resented having to buy more of an ingredient than the meal calls for? Well, with Gousto, the precise amounts can be delivered to your door and you can make something as exotic as chicken teriyake on a school night without any hassle. Result... and the look on this chap's face is priceless.

Pizza Hut
"Big Deal"
30s
18 Jan 2016
A variety of strange and eccentric customers find their remarkable circumstances pale in significance when compared to Pizza Hut's 14 meal deal. Faced with a boxed banquet like that, being struck by lightning, freeing oneself from your ventriloquist's controlling influence, or having the power of magnetism does seem rather humdrum.

"Vinnie Jones"

18 Oct 2015
As with the previous executions, the broadcast version of the new National Lottery film gives us a taste of what's in store if we watch the extended version. Vinnie Jones wants to spend his lottery windfall on a plan to channel everyone's anger into a new energy source and this lovely piece of tomfoolery explains how he's going to do it.

This is the campaign that keeps on giving. It's not often these days that agencies carry on delivering on a promising conceit but you have to hand it to AMV: the second wave of 'please don't let it be them' is every bit as good as the first. Much of the credit for that belongs to director Jeff Low who has coaxed wonderful pieces of self-deprecation from the subjects of these films.

"Noel Edmonds"

8 Oct 2015
Another fine helping of fun courtesy of the excellent new campaign for the National Lottery. This time Noel Edmonds sends up his own image with a greedy plan to cash in on his association with the concept of the 'house party'. Given some of Edmonds's strange political views, this could have been a whole lot darker!

"Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen"

AMV and Biscuit's Jeff Low have saved the best until last. Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen (LLB) leaves Piers Morgan and Katie Price trailing in his wake as he mercilessly sends himself up on behalf of the National Lottery. Laurence Llewelyn Bowen's comedy version of himself - on the other hand - is merely him with the volume turned up to eleven.

"Piers Morgan (Extended Version)"

7 Jul 2015
The extended version of The National Lottery spot featuring Piers Morgan, is - it has to be said - even better than the broadcast spot. Much as we hate to admit it, he plays the part frighteningly well, and the various scenarios bear the weight of additional time without sagging in the slightest - all of which goes to show how strong a piece of work this is.

"Katie Price"

7 Jul 2015
Another entertaining ad for The National Lottery focuses on fame-hungry Katie Price, and the dreams she plans to realise on scooping a massive prize. Hats off again to Jeff Low for evidently putting her at ease enough to enjoy running with the gag... she proves herself very game, and her limitations - both acting and expression-wise - are key to the fun.

Piers Morgan trades on his reputation in this clever ad for the National Lottery which suggests his egotism would know no bounds if he were to win a big prize. The idea that we should buy a ticket to make that less likely isn't mathematically sound but is nonetheless persuasive as surely we would all do anything to stop the former newspaper editor from pushing ahead with the tongue-in-cheek plans he outlines in this commercial.

Pizza Hut
"Imposter"

16 Apr 2015
When Tom comes home, he discovers an imposter sharing pizza with his girlfriend and is plainly astonished that she hasn't notice he's not the real deal. It's the absurdity of the disguise, of course, that makes this so funny... but we also love the way he crashes through the wall when it's evident that the game's up.

Cadbury
"Kelly Brook Likes to Boogie"
70s
21 Feb 2014
In a follow-up to the chair-dancing office manager spot, Kelly Brook dazzles the staff at a car wash when she brings her vehicle for a shampoo and wax. As they foam up the exterior, she sits inside eating Dairy Milk and mouthing along to Bacarra's boogie; only stopping when they clear a section of windscreen. Has it struck anyone else she looks like a young Nigella in profile?

Battersea Dogs Home
"Geoffrey"

8 Feb 2010
An utterly charming film reminding us how interesting a pet dog can be by representing one as a human being. Canine traits become absurdly comic when acted out in this fashion and the film is admirably candid by portraying bad behaviour as well as good.
