What's so very lovely about this campaign is the way it ticks all the boxes on the brief... and then turns them into living, breathing creatures with irresistible cuddle appeal.

This ability to transform abstracts into tangibles is pretty damn rare, and VCCP are the go-to alchemists in this realm. Their idea of envisaging a good internet connection as fluffy goslings determined to remain with us at all costs is a genius one. Not only does the message come across loud and clear that O2's coverage is strong, it also suggests it's adorably focused on you.

This gives us something to be loyal to, protective of; if O2's service is pursuing us out of blind love then we can't help but feel a duty towards it. Should coverage waver, our sense that it's struggling to do its best to keep up will serve it very well indeed.

This super piece of work advertising O2's second-hand phone scheme pulls out all the stops in its effort to catch our attention. It's another opportunity for directorial duo Si & Ad to show off their increasingly confident flair and the extraordinary effort they've put into this suggests there might be something in the 'buy one get one free' conceit when it comes to directors.

For better or worse, children are becoming quite the precocious technology users as they learn to tap, swipe, and browse along with their ABCs. Like all kids, however, they'll sometimes find themselves straying too far from the safe path. With this in mind, O2 and the NSPCC collaborate on this ad highlighting the dangers of unsupervised internet access with a pleasing visual treatment.

The dog days are over at O2 as the mobile network replace their animal-centric approach with a friendly gift box. The VO explains how the carrier turns one's phone into a bottomless box of treats, offering customers perks such as cinema tickets, shorter gig queues, and discounted grub. The absence of whiskers is an adjustment, but there's a whimsical feel to the visuals which still communicate the brand's message nicely.

With Paul Kaye's Mad Maurice presumably off receiving the help he sorely needs, BetVictor kick off a new and refreshing campaign to help them stand out amongst the riff raff. This well turned-out duo get to the point about the betting site's superior odds so quickly that they're left with time to kill. No problem - let's check out what the competition's up to.

These lovely Meerkat bumpers for Coronation Street are brief but amusing spoofs of famous movies, as befits the brand's promotion of 2 for 1 cinema tickets. Zombies, aliens and classic westerns are all fodder for the seconds-long spots, and all take place on the well-trodden cobbles of the Street. Hilda will be spinning in her grave.

Give Arnold Schwarzenegger a film to promote and he'll give you 100% every time... so it's no surprise the outcome here is very good. Luckily for VCCP and their meerkat-wrangling director Darren Walsh, Arnie's all about the new Terminator film at the moment and would probably agree to a ménage ŕ trois with Aleksandr and Sergei if it would get a few more bums on seats.

A Hollywood hotshot is bellowing down the phone at some upstart who wants everything - the names, blockbusters, the prestige... but isn't prepared to pay for any of it. "Who is this?" he bellows. Naturally it turns out to be Aleksandr and Sergei... and they're after a deal that will enable them to provide free movie tickets for their customers in the UK.

The Meerkat Movies proposition has been imported into Compare the Market's sponsorship of Coronation Street and the amusing bumpers in this short compilation are all movie-themed. We particularly like Sergei's confusion when he sees a prop designed to look like a patisserie and his subsequent efforts to track down the missing cake.

On a trip to Hollywood, Aleksandr Orlov and his trusty companion Sergei suddenly realise that a massive opportunity opened up when EE (neé Orange) decided to drop their involvement with two-for-one cinema tickets. Thus the canny duo came up with Meerkat Movies which will entitle punters to the same terms as the previous deal (with the added bonus that they can exploit the offer on a Tuesday as well as a Wednesday) if they buy their car or home insurance through the price comparison site.

Paul Kaye's 'Mad Maurice' roughs up Sven-Göran Eriksson's model railway in this new spot for Bet Victor. While we're still getting our heads round the sudden vision of the ex-England manager in a train master's outfit complete with cap, a strange volcano rises up destructively among the diddy scenery, derailing carriages and dislocating cows. What is going on?

The famous puss-pooch has gone stellar - quite literally. Here he shows just how far you can go if you put your mind to it and floats about as if he's a feline George Clooney in Gravity. It's all thanks to his SIM card, it would appear, and what's more he's never going to be stranded thanks to his rocket-speed 4G. Huzzah!

Baby Oleg gathers himself up for a storm of tears until his toy is hurriedly returned in the latest ad for the price comparison service and it seems a good moment to admire the craft that goes into this campaign.. the animation is fantastic. We take it for granted these days but not so long ago, animation as good as this would have been hailed as miraculous.

The new Honey Maid ad made by Droga5 in the US contains brave depictions of gay couples bringing up children, and who's to say that Compare the Market aren't being similarly revolutionary as we see Alexandr and Sergei sharing the parental duties as far as the latest addition to the meerkat family is concerned.

It looks like the promising Robert Webb experiment has been well and truly scrapped in favour of the tried and tested approach; namely ads with no comedy human interaction. Ralph the dog can't sing, but he's got a party going on in his heart. To the strains of Donna Summer, an endless whirl of sports, music and other stuff that you can get with 4G plays out like there's no tomorrow, and one can only hope he's fit as a butcher's proverbial or he'll keel over from the sheer excitement / exhaustion of it.

When a campaign starts to get overly complicated, it can be a sign it's running out of steam and there are signs of that in this spot - cleverly crafted as it is. An unashamed pester-power plug using the meerkat soft toy collection to lure people in to renew or buy insurance via the website. It's part of the 'duet' campaign direction, but lacks the charm that some of the executions have; partly because it's just one long list of character names set to the tune of Ebony and Ivory.

Man and meerkat confront each other for a showdown... and opt to settle their differences with an al fresco duet. A woman is a little taken aback when she opens her fridge to discover that two of the takeaway chefs from the previous ads are inside. They urge her not to cook. Any children watching this ad should take care to avoid emulating this duo as certain death will follow... what ever happened to all those warnings when DAVID was a lad?
