Maltesers
"Dance Floor"
30s
6 Sep 2016
The third of the three excellent commercial for Maltesers which won £1 million of free airtime on Channel 4 has a woman in a wheelchair describing a mishap on the dance floor at a wedding. It didn't end badly for her though... she managed to pull the best man. Another enlightening instalment.

Maltesers
"Theo's Dog"
30s
6 Sep 2016
Another helping of funny and rude from the campaign for Maltesers which was selected by Channel 4 to champion diversity. In this execution - which is told in sign language - we learn how a hearing aid was swallowed by a dog and the only prospect of its return lies in filtering the pet's excrement. None of this is explicit but it doesn't take much to read between the lines.

Maltesers
"New Boyfriend"
30s
6 Sep 2016
It's sometimes said that the Marx Brothers got away with their most risqué gags because the censors didn't understand the innuendo and we have to wonder whether something similar happened here - as we can't quite believe a gag as rude as this has made it onto our screens. We're bloody glad it has though, as it's a perfect way of reminding a general audience that you don't have to be able-bodied to have a wicked sense of humour.

Coastguard
"Cold Water Kills"
40s
26 Jul 2016
This haunting film by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency reminds us that our perception of the water after a couple of drinks can result in fatal consequences. All is still beneath the surface before a man plunges into the water. As soon as he begins to struggle, the VO's grave exclamations indicate his fate is already sealed. Bubbles cover the screen and frantic movements slow to a grim acceptance as the body has nothing more to give.

Maltesers
"Barney"
20s
13 May 2016
Maltesers may be little balls of deliciousness, but they take on a whole new perspective in this spot. A woman's dog - wearing the lampshade of humiliation - wanders into the kitchen where the woman and a friend are chatting at the table. Using the confectionery to offer a visual explanation, we learn that Barney has been unmanned, so to speak. The shame.

Maltesers
"Gran"
20s
13 May 2016
A couple of colleagues are taking a break in the stock room and get talking about a mutual friend's evidently frail gran. Using a Malteser to demonstrate the sorry tale, one of the women tells how a small gust of wind proves fatal. It's an amusing idea for a campaign - whatever the nature of the story being told, the glibness of acting it out with confectionery can't help but make us smile.

Maltesers
"Necklace"
20s
13 May 2016
Individual Maltesers continue to help illustrate the key themes of various anecdotes and confessions in this fun new campaign. Here, a nurse admits she borrowed a friend's treasured necklace on the evening she danced with Jamie, "the really fit one". But that's not all that happened, it turns out. She primes her friend for the outcome by lining up Maltesers and scattering them... we can all see where this is heading.

"Leaving"

8 May 2016
Following in Mum and Dad's footsteps can be a tricky proposition for many. When yours are comedy greats Jennifer Saunders and Ade Edmondson, it's, erm, no laughing matter. Luckily, Beattie Edmondson looks to have inherited both her parents' funny bones as this chucklesome Maltesers ad demonstrates.

Churchill
"Sun Visor"
10s
20 Mar 2016
These 10" ads do a neat job of maintaining Churchill's profile with their short bursts of anthropomorphic antics. The latest car accessory to belt out a tune is the sun visor, complete with a fetching pair of shades. Its version of Cyndi Lauper's 'I Drove All Night' pleases the insurer's nodding mascot who must surely have the most eclectic taste in town.

Churchill
"Furry Dice"
10s
14 Mar 2016
This campaign's creative use of vehicular paraphernalia continues to charm, even in 10" form. A pair of hanging dice brighten up this car's interior in more ways than one as they enjoy a burst of Billy Ocean's 'Get Outta My Dreams, Get into My Car'. Meanwhile, Churchill the dog nods his head approvingly at the in-car entertainment.

MOBO Awards
"Rise With Us"
65s
16 Nov 2015
Nadav Kandar's film promoting MOBO's new movement 'Rise With Us' has heft and gravitas. The aim is to broaden the remit of the awards, extending beyond music into all creative industries including art, theatre, film, fashion and advertising. Each person onscreen is a powerful presence, and the scratchy, glitchy style has an unsettling quality which adds extra impact.

Churchill
"Bumpers"
75s
16 Jul 2015
It's unusual for bumpers to be a brand's best advertising but these shorts by Blinkink's Joseph Mann are so good that you could certainly make the case. The characterisations created by Mann's ability to animate the inanimate combined with top VO performances makes for lovely little bursts of entertainment.

Churchill
"Oh Yeah"
10s
2 Jun 2015
Churchill's new direction featuring anthropomorphised objects continues with the mascot nodding away to Yello's 'Oh Yeah' in the car. The bulldog may have finally found his personal anthem! When the VO notifies us that one can acquire insurance from £158, the car's dashboard expresses its pleasure as various dials and screens respond to the song.

Churchill
"Depend On The Dog"
30s
1 Jun 2015
There are no humans in the latest commercial for Churchill... instead it's 'peopled' by animated objects. They voice the very human fears and concerns that customers have regarding their insurance. In this spot, a garage door (voiced by Rob Brydon) agitatedly tells Churchill that it's worried its little hatchback, safely ensconced within, might come to harm on the roads.

Royal Marines
"They Came From The Sea"
60s
1 Jul 2014
The RM's 'It's a state of mind' campaign continues with this impressively-filmed spot suggesting a voodoo-style horror movie. The paranoid central character is terrified of some legendary force or other and we can see why - the shadows hide predators so unknowable, so intelligent and so deadly that once you're caught you don't stand a chance. What is the force? The Royal Marines, of course.

Churchill
"Chips"
30s
4 Jun 2014
Dawn plays dim in this ad for the insurance company. Sitting in a sheltered spot to ward off the traditional summer weather, she ponders what would be an appropriate reward for customers who are good drivers. Churchill feebly attempts to point at the advert wrapping his chips, which has a headline about 80% discounts, but all Dawn can come up with is... saveloys.

Churchill
"Café"
30s
11 Feb 2014
This campaign is really getting into its stride now, and Dawn French seems to have given in and embraced the whole notion that she's bezzie mates with a giant nodding dog. In this spot she gets het up at the thought of uninsured drivers leaving their victims uncompensated until Churchill points out that one particular company takes care of all that.

Churchill
"Dance"
30s
2 Feb 2014
A genuinely sweet for the Insurance company, which suggests it's starting to really establish the relationship between Dawn French and the giant nodding dog. To illustrate the offer of up to 80% off annual premiums, they have Churchill holding an impromptu 80s disco in his garage. Depeche Mode's Just Can't get Enough booms out as Dawn whirls him round; herself replete with leg warmers and crimped hair. Lovely.

Now TV
"That Was Then"
60s
28 Nov 2013
An amusing look at life before Now TV shows the trials and hazards of attempting to catch programmes without the technology available to fully enjoy them. It compares each scenario with life post-Now; a vastly improved world where no family member is isolated and only the dog is still stuck in its pre-Now state of bucket-headed confinement, though apparently oblivious to its own plight.

Now TV
"Box"
30s
16 Oct 2013
As we've said before, this is a very crowded market, and it's hard (a) to stand out and (b) to demonstrate clearly what is being offered by any particular service. This manages to explain that one small piece of equipment can upgrade the functionality of your tellybox without you having to commit to an expensive smart TV.

Sky +
"The Sopranos"
40s
29 Oct 2012
Jonathan Ross reveals that he's never watched The Sopranos in the latest of the ads for Sky Plus featuring the chat show host. Now that the broadcaster is introducing a box-set on demand service, he's finally going to be able to work out what all the fuss is about. Shame he doesn't have a DVD player though... poor love.

Sky +
"Tennis Final"
40s
24 Oct 2012
Jonathan Ross expresses his enthusiasm for tennis in this commercial designed to draw attention to a deal which will enable Sky + users to access the BBC iPlayer from the end of the month. Is there less sincere advocate than Ross? You can almost see him spending his considerable fee with his eyes as he delivers his lines.

Sky +
"Hayden"
40s
16 Oct 2012
A fan of Game of Thrones speaks enthusiastically about the programme before donning a crown and menacing the camera with a toy sword. Thanks to the advertised device's 'series link' feature, he's able to make sure he never misses an episode of the American-made drama.

Sky +
"Ginger Pig"
60s
7 Oct 2012
Never mind all the fuss about Mercedes's interactive ad during this weekend's X Factor, the most outstanding commercial to run during the programme was this excellent piece for Sky. Initially appearing to be an ad for a new sausage called 'Ginger Pig', it soon becomes clear that we're looking at something else altogether.
