The brand has done well in communicating its usefulness in recent times, and this ad creates an optimistic vibe with a sequence of feet striding forward with purpose.

9.58 seconds. It's arguably one of the most famous times in the world (sorry Chico Time) thanks to Usain Bolt's imperious efforts at the 2009 World Athletics Championships. As the man primes himself for another surge at glory, Michael Johnson asks, "Do you know what 9.58 seconds feels like?" Thanks to this kinetic piece of work for Virgin Media, we've got plenty of definitions to work from.

When a dad tells his son he's off to play golf with Dave, he's ushered onto the sofa for a little chat. Turns out it's time for pops to receive 'the talk' - that's right, the one about prostate cancer. You can tell he's desperate for the couch to swallow him up as his beanie-wearing son describes with some colourful imagery how ignoring the prostate can cause more problems than a missed tee time. Only when the message is received can dad go and out play with Dave.

Everyday life is celebrated by this charming film for Barclaycard which has a protagonist whose problems (and hairstyle) seem to have been imported from the 1970s. 'Hapless dad' is such an advertising staple that it's a relief to see him portrayed with a little less haplessness (without turning him into an out and out hero) and actually appearing to enjoy life's domesticity rather than finding it a drag.

Chef Igor Zago talks nostalgically about the gravy he remembers from his youth as see some 'archive' footage of it being made. Surprisingly, considering he's a chef (as we mentioned) he favours using the advertised product to remind him of those days rather than recommending that we make it ourselves (as per the 'archive' footage).

According to the chef responsible for brewing the advertised sauce mix, the inclusion of wild mushrooms has made all the difference. He earnestly prepares food in Knorr's development kitchen so the boffins can reduce it to dust and distribute it in packets sold in supermarkets.
