Temptations
"Keep Them Busy"
75s
2 November 2016
UK Pet Food

Temptations demonstrate why it's so important to keep your furry friends occupied this Christmas with an ad which shows exactly what kind of destruction can occur when pussies are on the loose (not grabbed, Donald).

Director Sam Brown introduces an idyllic island of Christmas in the middle of an empty room. The display features everything from Christmas trees with bird ornaments to model trains just waiting to be pounced on, and the snow globes placed tantalisingly close to the edge of shelves are a nice touch to ensure cat owners shoot their pets a knowing glance.

The compact Christmas remains beautifully constructed until a horde of cats are let into the room and do what they do best: ruin it. It's an orgy of destruction as they annihilate everything in their path... at least until the sound of a Temptations packet being shaken stops them in their tracks.

This is a fun and visually interesting ad with a strong concept behind it and a confident execution which lets the cats lead with all their natural weirdness. Better keep some Temptations handy come Christmas.

Thanks for making me cry Patrick. Knowing the special bond between my husband and son makes this incredibly moving for me.

Audi R8
"Spin"

1 Jun 2016
When it feels like you're going around in circles, it can be a frustrating experience. Audi, on the other hand, like nothing better than going for a good long spin. Having shown they can let rip like the best of them in the past, the luxury brand present a cultured take on a boy racer's speciality. The camera remains in faithful orbit around the R8 as it executes a textbook doughnut on a warehouse floor.

BBC Radio

BBC Radio present a lyrical and eye-catching tribute to the wireless with this 60" ad directed by Rogue's Mark Jenkinson. Poet and wordsmith James Massiah is our guide through an ever-changing environment as he ponders radio's ability to keep us switched on from the moment we slide out of bed.

Lloyds Bank
"For Your Next Step"
60s
11 Mar 2016
Having released their famous black horse from its stable last year with a gallop through history, Lloyds present another arresting film depicting life's noteworthy moments. We see the beast stride through the background of various scenarios rendered in slow motion. The technique allows the emotional heft of a new born baby, a proposal in a busy street, and the last goodbye to a loved one to be skilfully amplified.

Argos
"Just Can't Wait for Christmas"

When there are five directors of photography included in the credits, you'd better believe that most of what you ultimately see has been done in camera. And when what you see is the best part of an Argos store hurtling down the side of a snowy mountain, you'd better believe it's a mighty impressive achievement.

Road Safety
"50th Anniversary"
60s
14 Nov 2014
It's astonishing to learn that fifty years ago - when there were far fewer cars on the road - deaths caused by drink driving were over seven times higher than they are today. The Road Safety campaign has been largely instrumental in this, and so they have good reason to celebrate this startling reduction. But that's not going to be of any help to the 230 each year who die, as this brave and sensitive film tells us.

KFC aim to show how much their new Quad Wrap packs in with an ad featuring besuited office types doing donuts on the beach on quad bikes during their lunch hour. Not only have they had an adrenalin-fuelled time while others are picking up a sarnie from the local Greggs, but they've still got enough leeway to order the aforementioned item before heading back to work.

Jaguar
"The Art of Villainy"
2 mins 10s
6 Apr 2014
Mark Jenkinson's follow up to the Super Bowl ad highlighting the Britishness of villains in Hollywood movies is more than a match for its big budget prequel. Tom Hiddlestone - who also appeared in Tom Hooper's film - pulls out all the stops as he offers a step-by-step guide to villainy that incorporates a Shakespeare recital and a lot of smouldering.

London Grammar

First things first - don't try this at home, kids. Same goes for you, dads. Sam Brown's inventive video for London Grammar's superb new single Strong goes in a direction you really don't expect and it's a pyrotechnical joy, but don't be surprised if your local paper reports a spate of garden shed fires once this has been on YouTube for a few weeks.

What a total stunner of an ad. A beautifully simple, effective idea - earn your drink - brought to life in the most imaginative way possible. DAVID is a great believer in 'truthiness', and this has pint glasses of it. We've all known moments of triumph snatched from the yawning maw of disaster, and this captures the euphoria fabulously.

Cracking ad has an urban chase as a black undercover cop chases a villain. The two tear through the streets causing mayhem before the robber jumps through someone's back garden and into a house. His chaser is close until distracted by some Crunchy Nut Corn Flakes.
