'Virgin Games' takes on a whole new meaning in this ad presented to us by a cheery vampire. We see him going about his ordinary life, brushing his fangs and avoiding sunlight, as he talks about how the app has helped him get out more. It's unclear whether this ad would convince anyone to download the gaming app (other than the undead demographic which it has nailed down) but it's definitely amusing to watch. Plus, great ketchup gag.

Using the Errol Morris mirror technique and then not using it seems odd here

It's good to hear Gethin Alderman's Welsh lilt uttering Royal London's name again as the insurer returns to its laudable live-action campaign with an adventure on the high seas. Time-travelling spokesperson Roy puts his sea legs to good use on a ship with a questionable division of labour. Insurrection soon breaks out with amusing zip as the mild-mannered Roy explains how Royal London's 'ProfitShare' scheme.

Want a new phone... on the house? That's what you'll get with O2, apparently. After 12 months, that is, if you choose the latest model on their 30GB tariff. Shame there has to be such a rider, but all the same this does make it sound as if you're a rather privileged customer. Suavely done with some slick choreography.

The Children's Society
"Growing Pains"

This film highlighting the sexual exploitation of children addresses the issue via the familiar phrase 'growing pains'. It's a term that usually describes the physical and emotional upheavals most youngsters experience, and in those two words is a tacit understanding that these pains are temporary; a necessary phase on the way to becoming a mature adult.

A visually-arresting spot featuring snippets of Channel 4's best comedies set to the head-nodding 'Ode to Oi'. The ad's VO explains that the triumphal gestures made by the characters - thanks to the back-and-forth editing - are how we'll feel if we download O2 Priority, which will enable us to see our fave shows 48 hours before anyone else.

Gethin Alderman had better be stepping on to the stage at this year's Craft Arrows to collect a gong for his superb acting performances in a variety of films for Royal London... including this series of bumpers... or there will have been a serious miscarriage of justice. The comedy actor has a beautiful sense of timing and adds a real dividend every time.

This smart commercial for O2 confidently asserts that their customers are benefiting in a change to mobile phone contracts. The campaign's dog-envying cat commands our attention as he struts down the street a la John Travolta in Saturday Night Fever.

This excellent ad features Ed Sheeran, portraying his rise to fame from his bedroom at the family's home, through to busking on the underground and ending with an appearance at Wembley Stadium. The whole commercial was filmed in a single shot which gives it a lovely dynamism and proves Sheeran must be good at hitting his marks.

This fantastic commercial for Royal London not only tackles the taboo of 'death', it laughs in its face. Just look at the opening exchange: "We're all going to die!" warbles an aged soothsayer... only for the brand spokesperson (the marvellous Gethin Alderman) to riposte: "It's true - we are all going to die," before explaining how Royal London have been helping people to make provisions for this inevitability ever since their foundation in 1861, even going so far as to label them "experts in dying".

"Bein' from the olden days," a besieged Gethin Alderman tells us as he's hit by arrows, "Royal Insurance are full of classic olden-day values." Thus begins his explanation of why you should trust them today for investments. It's wonderfully mad, with moments of utter visual genius - look out for the rat kitted out in a little cape.

This is one of the funniest ads we've seen in a long time. Who knew insurance was allowed to be this much fun? A walk through the ages - in the company of the superb Gethin Alderman - introduces us to the different types of insurance required by the times, and reminds us that Royal Insurance still holds the traditional values of days gone by.

Ever wondered what the preparations for a big rugby match look like from a dog's point of view? Of course you have. This is the latest in a series of ads from O2 evincing their support of England's rugby team, and it proves an innovative way of offering glimpses of them as they get ready for a significant game.
