Sky Broadband insist they’ll visit nearly any household to provide technical support. Alas, the message doesn’t penetrate Lego Batman’s cowl. Meanwhile, The Dark Knight (voiced by Will Arnett) reveals his latest innovation: the Bat-Merch Gun. Not sure how much use that’ll be fighting criminals, but it ensures maximum coverage. Lovely nods to Batmobiles old and new in the background, too.

Lego Batman's great wifi doesn't change the fact he spends his time in a damp cave and nobody wants to play with him. Unfortunately for the Sky Broadband tech team, this means he gets 'batbored' and rings them up for a chat frequently - even breaking his router on purpose for something to talk about. Maybe time for some batcounselling, Bruce.

A woman expresses herself on the dance floor in this uplifting yet understated BUPA commercial. Opening on her short journey from the drinks table, the array of emotions on her face suggest a far longer journey has taken place in her life. Then we learn she's had successful treatment for cancer, and understand we're witnessing her emergence from a long dark tunnel into the bright, welcome light of day.

This entertaining ad claims Sky Broadband’s ‘Tech Team’ are the new heroes in town. Try telling that to everyone’s favourite brooding vigilante, Batman. While Sky’s sparks get on with the job, the Caped Crusader (voiced by Arrested Development’s Will Arnett) makes a nuisance of himself.

Sky Cinema
"Advent Calendar"
40s
8 Nov 2016
Sky suggests there's plenty in store for movie lovers this Christmas with this skillfully composed ad. Windows from an advent calendar open to a host of blockbuster titles - and each door is in keeping with the film's aesthetic. The calendar motif is a smart one, making the proposition instantly obvious and easy to remember.

Sky enlist the cast from 'The Secret Life of Pets' again for this commercial, which focuses on their line rental packages offering free calls to mobiles. It's sweetly done and once again emphasizes Sky's clout by reminding us of their association with the biggest box office films, even when that's not the point of the communication.

"Dust"

Magical shapes form from the dust particles lit by a projector in this clever ad for Sky Cinema, which seeks to forge a connection between the big screens that typically dominate our living rooms and our collective affection for the experience of going to the pictures. Add a few classic movie soundbites and you have a winning slice of nostalgia to emphasise Sky's place in our relationship with film.

Having trumped 'Independence Day: Resurgence' at the UK box office, you'd think the cast of animated flick 'The Secret Life of Pets' would have earned a reliable broadband service. Alas, Basset Hound Pops has his eyes opened in more ways than one by the buffering screen in front of him. To make sure this dog has its day, his companions unsurprisingly recommend switching to Sky Broadband.

Sky attach themselves to another highly-anticipated animated movie to promote the merits of their broadband service - this time, it's the cast of 'The Secret Life of Pets' struggling with lag. With no humans around, Gidget the white Pomeranian attempts to coax her furry companions into a dance routine - a feat made difficult by their lousy router. Unsurprisingly, it's Sky who prove to be the mutt's nuts in the reliable broadband department.

With 'X-Men: Apocalypse' set to up the mutant stakes even higher later this year, Evan Peters reprises his role as Quicksilver from the superhero franchise in this impressively-crafted commercial for Sky Broadband. When a student at Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters finds the broadband signal operating at less than superhuman speed, Quicksilver spies an opportunity to impress her with supersonic efficiency.

Sky once again demonstrates its heft in the world of movie distribution by incorporating characters from a major animated film in one of their commercials. Sky has come up with another magical Christmas ad to show the immersive power of film this year... all hingeing on the humble sprout. The online betting site's "Tap Tap Boom" campaign continues with this vibrant ad. Once the featured gambler decides cut and run with the tap of a screen, an extravagant display of dancers and flaming footballs appears from nowhere. It's another eye-catching commercial for Betfair that builds on some of the most memorable work in this sector.

It's the fantastic special effects that really make this, but you have to doff your cap to the weirdness of a mind that thinks: 'let's put racehorses inside fast moving cars'! The dynamism that's created by this bold notion is exactly what this brand is all about and WCRS successfully projects the idea that it's a lot of fun to siphon your hard-earned dosh into Betfair's coffers.

Sky
"Step into the Adventure"

8 Nov 2014
This clever ad for Sky succeeds where so many others have failed: it gives you a real sense of immersion in the viewing experience. As a family decorates the Christmas tree, Kermit the Frog barges into the room and propels them on a Sky Movie Adventure. Essentially, they're taken through a raft of family movies before ending up back at home - but along the way, they're transformed in keeping with the movies they visit.

Sky Broadband
"Toy Story"

27 Aug 2014
Sky teams up with Disneymedia+ and Pixar again for the second Toy Story spot promoting broadband. It has all the charm you'd hope for from an ad featuring Buzz and Woody, with the usual delicious little touches highlighting the toys' naivete about technology. Consequently, wi-fi shall henceforth be known as wee-fee in the DAVID household.

Betfair have met our sports-related cephalopod needs by providing us with this splendid television commercial. Good old Samuel L Jackson. He does know how to put on a good show of righteous, justified dudeness. In this spot for Sky Broadband, which is a tie-in with Captain America: The Winter Soldier, he gets into character as Nick Fury and urges the crew to sign up for Sky Broadband Shield when it's discovered that online details of the soldier in question have been hacked and in their place is a website of dubious moral quality.

Now that Christmas television isn't about planning your viewing schedule and knowing that when you sit down to watch the annual Eastenders killing fest several million people are watching it at the same time, you can take comfort in having Sky offer up its choccy box of delights as and when you need it. And in this spot, there are several occasions where people seem to need it quite a lot.

Ahh, Christmas. A time when the family get together to watch a movie. Or do they? These days, it's as likely that each individual will have their face buried in a gadget of their own where they'll be decapitating zombies in Minecraft; using angry birds to kill murderous pigs; watching old episodes of favourite panel shows on YouTube or messaging idly with a faraway friend.

Sky Broadband

Sky has taken the unusual decision to make a spoof of their own ad. Jeff Stelling takes the place of Bruce Willis in the role of a man unhappy with the broadband provided by a rival company, while the same young woman who departed with Willis sets off for a night of who-knows-what with Stelling.

A man's cheesy chat-up line is mocked by a woman who gives a full description of Alpen in reply to his enquiry about what she would like for breakfast. She prefers the cool fellow stood behind and it is he whom she scarily offers a 'nut crunch' the next morning.
