Halifax continue raiding the Hanna-Barbera vault by bringing Scooby-Doo and the Mystery Incorporated gang to life. While evading a pesky mummy, Scoob and Shaggy learn about the rewards available to current account customers. We can only assume the unmasked 'mummy' at the end is a dastardly employee of a rival high street bank.

Heathrow Airport
"Best Gift of All"
70s
14 Nov 2016
It's fair to say not everyone will embrace Heathrow's Christmas cheer... particularly those living on the site of the airport's planned third runway. The issue will remain divisive into the New Year and beyond, but the airport's festive ad is a cuddly gem. Teddy bears won’t be enough to sway the anti-runway brigade, but their message of bringing families together with ease should travel well.

Heathrow Airport
"When I Live My Dream"
90s
17 Jul 2016
This charming celebration of Heathrow Airport's first seventy years featuring an early David Bowie song concentrates on a young girl's first experience of Britain's busiest transport hub. Luckily for her, it looks as though she must have arrived a few minutes after a major security alert as she and her family appear to have the place to themselves!

Halifax
"The Flintstones"

7 Jun 2016
Halifax once again raid the Hanna-Barbera vaults with due care and affection as Fred and WIlma Flintstone decide to switch to a bank with a twenty-first century approach to customer service. Despite an inauspicious encounter with the branch's see-through door, Fred quickly warms to the affable adviser who details the bank's £125 welcome bonus for switchers.

"Top Cat"

22 Apr 2016
Halifax have turned to Hanna-Barbera's cult classic Top Cat to help them demonstrate that they're thoroughly decent when it comes to lending money for mortgages. The mischievous feline uses a sob story to gain the sympathy of the Halifax staffer helping with his application, though - it has to be said - it's hard to win over an algorithm and human decision-making has all but been eliminated from the mortgage application process these days!

B & Q
"Koalas"

3 Apr 2016
Considering these koalas' affinity for the barbie, perhaps moving to the changeable conditions of the UK wasn't the wisest idea. Regardless, it's not enough to deter the human-sized marsupials from sprucing up their back garden for social gatherings. Funnily enough, it's the first time in this fun series the voices have 'matched' the animal.

"More Beavering"

More easy-going chatter from B&Q's home improvement-conscious rodents as their thoughts now turn to the garden. As Mrs Beaver tends to the new lawnmower, we learn Mr Beaver is always keen to take advantage of the DIY retailer's deals. While spring hasn't fully sprung just yet, the brand once again posit themselves as the ideal destination for those keen to exercise their green fingers.

B & Q
"Beavers"

23 Mar 2016
B & Q's DIY animal kingdom grows with the addition of Mr and Mrs Beaver - and they do the industrious reputation of their species no harm at all. The fact that two human-sized beavers shopping for peat is of no consequence to fellow customers works nicely, and their easy charm allows the ad to balance entertainment and talk of flooring offers with ease.

"Zebra"

17 Mar 2016
WCRS have made an inspired choice for the new colour spokesperson at B & Q... a debonair zebra determined to get away from the 'black and white' choices of his parents. There were many ways they could have brought the equine character to life and we thoroughly approve of their choice... having a human body with a zebra head allows him to interact with the staff at B & Q as though nothing is out of the ordinary.

Chemical Brothers
"Wide Open ft Beck"
5 mins 31s
26 Jan 2016
Mrs DAVID has always had a soft spot for The Chemical Brothers and is an almost obsessive Beck fan, so she was hoping this track would be amazing. As it is, the track never quite gets going - but is nonetheless a very pleasant listen. However, Dom&Nic's accompanying promo is a feat of technical genius - a lot of very intensive work must have gone into this.

Mars Celebrations
"Christmas Tree"
30s
1 Nov 2015
The Christmas tree ornaments cannot resist the lure of Mars Celebrations sat beneath them so they get themselves organised in this charming Yuletide film. It's the fabulous detail provided by directors Dom & Nic that really brings this to life... when the heroic quintet are interrupted, you can feel them trying to hold everything together and the tension is palpable.

McLaren
"Black Swan"
80s
7 Apr 2015
McLaren continue their 'Black Swan Moments' campaign with this ad showing the aforementioned bird being subjected to a session in the supercar manufacturer's wind tunnel. Our feathered friend copes impressively with the number of G forces being flung at him, and as the air calms, the end result is a shot of the new 570S model.

First Direct
"Male Eggs"
10s
27 Jan 2014
It's been a while since we first saw First Direct's amiable platypus brand ambassador. This 10" spot picks up almost where the 60" ad left off, which means he's been at the bar an awfully long time. No wonder he's confused. Does he lay eggs? Is he male? Someone should really take pity on him and get him to rehab before he starts thinking he's Humpty Dumpty, poor soul.

First Direct
"Platypus"

24 May 2013
A platypus with a voice supplied by comedian Tom Wrigglesworth - unless we're much mistaken - explains how he likes to do things a bit differently in this offbeat ad for the online bank. The point of difference being highlighted here is the bank's famously friendly call centre staff.

HSBC
"The Journey"

The British Lions are following in the footsteps of Captain Cook and making their way to Australia. In this ad, funded by one of rugby's biggest corporate supporters, some of the great figures from previous antipodean adventures get to put on antique maritime gear and mess about on a boat.

23 Mar 2012
To illustrate their dedication to their craft, we're told that the makers of Magners happily work in the dark because it improves the quality of the cider. But it's not just the apple presses that operate during the hours of darkness, everything else is too.

Barclays
"Bouncy Castle"
30s
1 Mar 2012
A clever reworking of an old ad from this campaign has Stephen Merchant suggesting that it all seems a bit familiar in his voiceover. As always, Merchant's wry delivery of an excellent script enhances material that wouldn't otherwise stand out.

HSBC
"Red Envelopes"
30s
2 Jan 2012
Apparently, it's a tradition in China to hand over money in red envelopes at New Year to bring about good fortune. We'd imagine that the more money inside, the greater the amount of good fortune... for fairly obvious reasons. Anyway, Michael Gambon (suffering from a cold by the sounds of it) reveals all as a missing envelope briefly causes minor consternation.

Barclays
"Egg Timer"
30s
3 Sep 2011
As usual in this campaign, the heavy-handedness of the visual metaphor is offset by the sardonicism of Stephen Merchant's voiceover. An egg-timer represents a mortgage and as the sand representing money pours through, a punter has the ability to slow it down.

HSBC
"Money Box"
30s
1 Aug 2011
A Japanese man hands his granddaughter a box to store money and a coin. Having deposited it, she's not sure how to retrieve it and even her father can't work it out. It requires a secret method to be opened and this is representative of an encyption service offered by HSBC.

Barclays
"Flexible Bonds"
30s
11 Jun 2011
A bow and arrow is used as a metaphor for a savings account which allows access to funds without penalty. A young man shoots golden balloons while Stephen Merchant comments in the sardonic fashion that has made this series of commercials notable.

"Bouncy Castle"

9 Mar 2011
Another in this excellent series demonstrating the value of a decent voiceover. Stephen Merchant is the man providing it and this time he's describing a metaphor built around a deflated bouncy castle which represents ISAs that aren't fully funded.

Barclays
"Shoes"
30s
29 Jan 2011
Another excellent piece of work to add to this increasingly confident campaign. Stephen Merchant provides the wry voiceover that's become a trademark of the series as he explains that the advertised bank are doing what they can to loan money to small businesses.

Barclays
"Track"

15 Jan 2011
More excellent work from Stephen Merchant as he provides another charming voiceover which introduces just the right amount of levity to an account of mortgage flexibility. There appears to be a growing recognition of the success of this campaign's formula with a more obvious intent to write to Merchant's comic vernacular. Super stuff.
