This innovative piece of work from Argentina is designed to make people think twice about the effects of fireworks on our canine friends. What appears like a frothy piece of PR fun as folk in the street are invited to 'feel like a dog' by putting on a costume head turns out to give them an unpleasantly startling experience.

Nature calls again and again in this entertaining VW commercial from Argentina. These motorists each have a full tank of a different kind. A lovely slow-motion sequence reminds us it doesnít matter where you are: when youíve gotta go, youíve gotta go. Director Rodrigo Garcia Saiz conveys each moment of release with good humour.

Lucky Charms

Is this subversively suggesting there's a connection between the colouring in the advertised cereal and the kind of hallucinatory trip that has youngsters making up a story for what's in their breakfast bowl? Of course not, it's a charming rhapsody about the innocence of childhood with voices that sound like they've come straight from a young imagination.

We'll be amazed if you haven't already heard about this rather lovely ad, but it's quite likely to leave you with something in your eye when you watch it... even if you're primed. A faithful hound who dotes on his master follows him to hospital when he falls ill, and waits patiently day in, day out, for his reappearance.

The ominous tone of this VW ad takes an unexpected turn after a late night meeting goes wrong. Marching to his car like vengeance in a suit, the harassed businessman finds his Golf isn't keen to open its doors to him. It instead gives him the runaround and leaves him flailing. Once he finally sinks to his knees in defeat, the car's fictitious Stress Detector technology is satisfied he's calmed down.

Andes Barley Wine
"The Miraculous Hen"

The first thing we wondered on seeing this was: who came up with the idea of a hen laying barley wine? And then: who must have said: 'Brilliant!'? But it works, in that just-don't-try-to-explain-it way. Superb casting, beautiful filming, and a little twist at the end to boot. What's not to love?

What would be the worst thing that could happen if you were running a bar inside a giant wooden horse as it was dragged around a city? Why, cobbles, of course. In this quirky Argentinian ad, there's panic aplenty as every piece of glassware is endangered by the pesky road surface.

Why is this sweet old woman who is so prone to disaster apparently indestructible? You have to watch to the end to find out. This commercial co-directed by Academy's latest signing only won a Silver Lion at last month's Cannes Festival - you really have to wonder what the jury was thinking... this is advertising gold.

Diesel
"Sneaker Of The Future"
1 min 50s
28 Sep 2010
Another ad in this series of commercials pressing the case for Diesel's sneakers to be regarded as weapons of ass destruction rather than running shoes. This ad is a spoof of a German sportswear commercial and asks us to imagine what a arse-kicking sneaker of the future might look like.

More from the campaign which focuses on the advertised footwear's potential for kicking arses. In this lengthy piece, various illustrations are offered of the basic techniques necessary to effectively kick an arse. From the looks of things, the footage in this ad might be enhanced by wearing the appropriate 3D eyewear.

There's another demonstration of the advertised product's arse kicking capability in this Argentine commercial. According to this ad, the sneaker will make a victim's arse wobble for longer than any other shoe and they have the footage to prove it.

Diesel
"Countryside"

28 Sep 2010
Another in this series of Argentine commercials for Diesel's footwear range which suggest their sneakers are better for kicking arses than they are for running. This one is reminiscent of a famous ad for Reebok in which a man is pursued by a giant belly. The apparent romantic bliss at the end is a strange twist.

Diesel
"Ballet"

28 Sep 2010
"Hey, and you know what else would work? Ballet. We could have ballet dancers kicking each other's asses. That would be real funny." Well, not really, but it's a game effort from this Argentine commercial for Diesel's footwear which is part of a campaign that reveals that the sneakers are better for kicking asses than they are for sport.

"Trailer"

28 Sep 2010
This Argentine ad explains that Diesel's sneakers aren't really designed for running but they're perfect for kicking arses. A sequence of appropriate targets are then shown getting a good kick in the rump including a third world dictator and a dentist recommending toothpaste in a commercial.

Topline Kiss
"The Kiss"

4 Nov 2009
This wonderful Argentine commercial focuses on a young couple whose kiss cannot be broken no matter what is thrown at them. The efforts become more and more extreme but their snogging remains utterly resolute... and it may have something to do with fresh breath.

This amusing Argentine ad is a stalker's guide to meeting your favourite celebrity. The protagonist describes the extraordinary lengths to which he goes in order to track down the mobile phone number of Eva Mendes. But is he brave enough to use it?

Coke Zero

If the great taste of Coca Cola can be combined with zero calories then anything is possible according to this animated piece from Argentina. A number of transformations illustrate the point with an impressively energetic flourish.

This gag probably says more about the macho nature of Argentine culture than anything else. After all, the idea of splitting the bill after a date is no longer anathema in Britain other than among those who read the Daily Telegraph and the Daily Mail.

This Argentine offering contains a rather extreme practical joke when a bunch of medics use a defibrillator to startle a sleeping colleague. The antic is designed to illustrate the idea that the best fun you have at work is when you aren't actually working.
