Sky Broadband insist they’ll visit nearly any household to provide technical support. Alas, the message doesn’t penetrate Lego Batman’s cowl. Meanwhile, The Dark Knight (voiced by Will Arnett) reveals his latest innovation: the Bat-Merch Gun. Not sure how much use that’ll be fighting criminals, but it ensures maximum coverage. Lovely nods to Batmobiles old and new in the background, too.

Lego Batman's great wifi doesn't change the fact he spends his time in a damp cave and nobody wants to play with him. Unfortunately for the Sky Broadband tech team, this means he gets 'batbored' and rings them up for a chat frequently - even breaking his router on purpose for something to talk about. Maybe time for some batcounselling, Bruce.

This entertaining ad claims Sky Broadband’s ‘Tech Team’ are the new heroes in town. Try telling that to everyone’s favourite brooding vigilante, Batman. While Sky’s sparks get on with the job, the Caped Crusader (voiced by Arrested Development’s Will Arnett) makes a nuisance of himself.

Sky enlist the cast from 'The Secret Life of Pets' again for this commercial, which focuses on their line rental packages offering free calls to mobiles. It's sweetly done and once again emphasizes Sky's clout by reminding us of their association with the biggest box office films, even when that's not the point of the communication.

Having trumped 'Independence Day: Resurgence' at the UK box office, you'd think the cast of animated flick 'The Secret Life of Pets' would have earned a reliable broadband service. Alas, Basset Hound Pops has his eyes opened in more ways than one by the buffering screen in front of him. To make sure this dog has its day, his companions unsurprisingly recommend switching to Sky Broadband.

Sky attach themselves to another highly-anticipated animated movie to promote the merits of their broadband service - this time, it's the cast of 'The Secret Life of Pets' struggling with lag. With no humans around, Gidget the white Pomeranian attempts to coax her furry companions into a dance routine - a feat made difficult by their lousy router. Unsurprisingly, it's Sky who prove to be the mutt's nuts in the reliable broadband department.

With 'X-Men: Apocalypse' set to up the mutant stakes even higher later this year, Evan Peters reprises his role as Quicksilver from the superhero franchise in this impressively-crafted commercial for Sky Broadband. When a student at Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters finds the broadband signal operating at less than superhuman speed, Quicksilver spies an opportunity to impress her with supersonic efficiency.

Sky once again demonstrates its heft in the world of movie distribution by incorporating characters from a major animated film in one of their commercials. This time some of the characters from 'Kung Fu Panda' provide a piece of comedy designed to make a point about the reliability of Sky's broadband offer.

Pixar's new film 'Inside Out' is the vehicle by which Superfast Sky Fibre is promoted in this ad - and very charmingly done it is too. The emotions in a little girl's head are getting flustered with the slow broadband that's making her biology home work difficult, until one of them has the bright idea of getting Sky's offering instead.

Sky makes the Minions supercute in a spot which walks us through the nascent years of the internet and its various peculiarities along the way. That's right! we remember nostalgically - no other generation will have the same visceral reaction to the sound of dial-up! No-one will appreciate the line-by-line revelation of an image that's taking an hour to download!

We quite like these quietly amusing bumpers from Sky Broadband. Each demonstrating the benefits of the feature it focuses on - the speed of the broadband, the smoothness of the switch to them from another provider, the abilities of their tech team - they're simple, unshowy and nicely cast. Love the look on that little boy's face as he waits for the old dodderer to serve.

Sky teams up with Disneymedia+ and Pixar again for the second Toy Story spot promoting broadband. It has all the charm you'd hope for from an ad featuring Buzz and Woody, with the usual delicious little touches highlighting the toys' naivete about technology. Consequently, wi-fi shall henceforth be known as wee-fee in the DAVID household.

Good old Samuel L Jackson. He does know how to put on a good show of righteous, justified dudeness. In this spot for Sky Broadband, which is a tie-in with Captain America: The Winter Soldier, he gets into character as Nick Fury and urges the crew to sign up for Sky Broadband Shield when it's discovered that online details of the soldier in question have been hacked and in their place is a website of dubious moral quality.

This bumper for Sky Broadband sees our vet talking to one of the farm animals - presumably a sheepdog - who is just out of sight. As he issues the order to lie down and roll over, the farmer overhears... with predictably amusing results. We can't help but think of Mark Gatiss's hapless vet in The League of Gentlemen - surely a tragic error is only a syringe away.

One in an amusing series of bumpers for the broadband provider. The jokes are real groaners, but sometimes the old chestnuts are the best and these suit the time of year perfectly, like the jokes in that box of discount crackers you thought seemed a good buy at the time. Nicely done, too - well cast, well directed.

What a lovely way to communicate the idea that we should switch to Sky if we need more from our broadband connections. Although we doubt there'll be a sequel revealing the full horror of Sky's customer service standards - that would require too many images of apoplectic heads exploding.

Sky has taken the unusual decision to make a spoof of their own ad. Jeff Stelling takes the place of Bruce Willis in the role of a man unhappy with the broadband provided by a rival company, while the same young woman who departed with Willis sets off for a night of who-knows-what with Stelling.

IT experts called out to take a look at someone's computer explain to the owner that slow broadband's the problem, not the computer. The owner, standing on a grand piano and swinging a golf club, is Al Pacino. As they explain, he conclusively breaks the PC by hitting a ball through the monitor.

Sky have once again splashed cash on a major Hollywood star... this time Jennifer Aniston. This amusing collection of bumpers advertising Sky Broadband's sponsorship of drama on ITV are all centred around police activity. Our favourite – and the moment for by a still image – is 'the wire' put around the neck of a cop going undercover... there's no way the bad guys are going to spot that baby.

This series of bumpers advertising Sky Broadband's sponsorship of ITV's drama output are a pretty amusing bunch. Each of them looks like an authentic piece of period drama until they're undermined by something that brings them to a crashing halt. But why are Sky helping to fund their rival's broadcasting output... very generous an' all but is it wise?

Hans Christian Anderson's story about a delusional emperor creates the opportunity for a lecture about the affordability of Sky.
