This pleasingly cryptic piece of communication from Thinkbox reminds us how television advertising can enable anyone to punch above their weight. In this case, an alien with intentions unknown begins broadcasting on all frequencies to the people of planet Earth prompting waves of panic as the population awaits its fate.

Into the breach strides a man who has been waiting for this moment all of his life, racing off in his van to make sure he's at the centre of events when the aliens make their presence felt.

The film breaks on Boxing Day and will be heralded by a number of 'interruptions' appearing in other commercials ahead of the launch of the 60" film.

It requires viewers to join the dots to connect this to Thinkbox's mission and while this may mean it passes over the heads of many watching, those who matter - potential customers for the advertising industry - seem likely to decipher its cryptic message and, as DAVID has said before, there's nothing wrong with a little bit of 'huh?' when it comes to frequently-repeated communication.

Apparently this is the last Thinkbox ad that will feature Harvey the dog as he's getting a bit long in the tooth... and what a shame that is. His placid, patient face has served as the perfect foil to the big personality that lies beneath - as his own ad-based communications have shown. It's been not only an engaging campaign but an extremely clever one and we'll be sad to see it go.

It was a brave decision by Thinkbox to offer a second appearance to Harvey the wonder dog. In order for this film to work as well as its predecessor it would need to be even better so it's just as well that it is. An absolutely charming film from start to finish. A triumph.

Given the closeness of DAVID's relationship with Thinkbox and his admiration for their extraordinary support for television advertising, it would be embarrassing if their own modest contribution to the canon were, in any way, unsatisfactory but luckily there's no need for DAVID to dust off his list of nice things to say about turkey plumage as this is a really charming film.

This highly amusing piece created by Thinkbox to remind companies that TV is still the best loved medium for advertising has a man on a psychiatrist's couch recalling famous lines of copy and channelling them despite being in a semi-catatonic state.
