Another eye-catching film from the Home Office designed to enlighten young people about abusive relationships. These disembodied parts discuss the line between consensual sex and rape - a line that can quickly become blurry. This campaign itself walks a fine line between serious and conversational, but its distinctive execution should get people talking.

This Home Office ad for their Disrespect NoBody campaign follows the aesthetic of its predecessor - this time featuring a message about being pressurised to sext and send naked pics as discussed by a pair of animated breasts. It's certainly an arresting image, backed up by a strong script... we imagine the mainly young target audience will relate to the sense of disembodiment it depicts.

This skilfully-animated spot is almost too visually arresting to bring home its point about abusive relationships. The use of disembodied hands, feet, groins and eyes (each with their own mouth) reminds us that you can't isolate an element of a person and abuse it as an entity in its own right and the cumulative effect is highly disconcerting... as it's intended to be.

Nikki Sanderson's character still hasn't left Jeremy Sheffield's nefarious Patrick even though in the previous spot he'd beaten her up. It's an interesting experiment to use characters from Hollyoaks... attention-grabbing certainly, but you have to wonder whether the target audience will grasp the importance of the message.

Part of a wider campaign highlighting emotional abuse in relationships, this particular strand focuses on a couple in Hollyoaks whose storyline reflects the psychological damage that controlling behaviour can have. Will it be more effective because it uses fictional but recognisable characters, or less because we find it hard to believe in them? We suspect it will have most resonance with the audience that watches the show, because there's a danger that for many people, the fact they look familiar but not necessarily identifiable could distract from the message.

Another take on the recent film designed to persuade teenagers not to behave abusively has the nasty exchange between a young couple being witnessed by an alternative version of the girl rather than the boy.

This film seeks to remind teenage boys to behave responsibly in their relationships. It depicts one of their number behaving appallingly as he puts his girlfriend under pressure to have sex and asks him to take a look at himself... literally.
