Sparks fly and antlers collide in this gorgeous-looking Peugeot commercial. A lightning strike causes a chain reaction as a herd of deer flee the resulting forest fire. Nature comes to life as this driver ventures further into the woods, absorbing every detail as the flames rage on.

There's a strong, heightened quality to the visuals: hairs stand on end; flames dance in mid-air; and a river snuffs out the inferno one branch at a time. This guy sure knows the right spot for a lively country drive.

Peugeot's recent work has impressed with confident visuals and a contemplative attitude to driving. Sure enough, this latest ad enthrals with its beautifully rendered depiction of driver, vehicle, and scenery feeding off one another.

Who cares what the weather report says when the weather itself can't touch you? That's what this slickly-made commercial for Peugeot suggests as torrential rain and lashing waves fail to make an impact on the car and its driver while thoroughly drenching ordinary people exposed to the elements. Lovely post work.

Peugeot
"Dragon"
30s
13 Jun 2015
This spot for the 're-energised' Peugeot 208 features a dragon tattoo slithering off the arm of a man driving and snaking round a downtown landscape before morphing back to its 2D version again. No, we don't have a clue either and while the CGI is very nice it's not going to sell any vehicles. The track, 'Sunshine' by Teddybears - only adds to the confusion.

Peugeot
"Ice City"

4 May 2015
The Peugeot 2008 appears to have driven into a metropolitan ice age in this 'frozen' ad. The visuals are meant to convey the idea that driving in the advertised vehicle will allow you to view your world in a new perspective. Whether that translates into the daily commute is a different story, but who can resist the sight of a man walking his penguin?

Peugeot
"The Legend Returns"
1 min 40s
1 Oct 2014
The legend returns in this ad for Peugeot, but we have to say we're slightly foxed as we can't remember it from the first time around. Still, it's very impressively filmed and the car in question has evidently spent the intervening years working out in earnest somewhere. Footage from the original ad is intercut with today's version to show how the design has been refined and there are some genuinely hairy moments.

"Keep It Simple"

22 Jun 2014
Another bland car ad; this time for a Peugeot estate. Apparently the key to choosing a car that makes you feel like a fish is the 'keep it simple' rule, which makes time stand still for an instant. We think we understand what they're trying to say here - a big car that nonetheless makes you feel so free you're lost in the moment - but it's a very 'car advert' way of putting things and that's not a compliment.

"Just Add Fuel"

18 Jan 2014
There's a slightly desperate tone to this commercial for Peugeot that makes you think the cars are proving hard to shift from the sales forecourts. The question at the start: "What is the point of designing a beautiful car if no one can afford to run it?" sounds like it's being asked by the company's CEO while his team stare at him in terror.

"Purpose of Peugeot Design"
60s
25 Dec 2013
This 60" spot highlighting the reasons behind Peugeot's design features suggests that market research and sales aren't the driving force so much as the desire "to use technology to wake the senses" and - as with a shorter version for the 308 - to "shorten the distance between the surface of the road and the hair on your skin."

Peugeot
"Desert Landscape"

5 Jul 2013
Give a car ad a stylish setting and at least it's easy on the eye. This travels through impressive deserts but also takes in city elements such as industrial window cleaning and smart office workers crossing the road to indicate that the Peugeot is equally at home in both environments. There's a power grip too, but we don't know what that is.

Peugeot
"Wacky Races"
90s
18 May 2013
A lavish production for their latest zippy model, this takes its inspiration from good old Wacky Races and throws in some extra zaniness just for fun. The rascally characters get hot and bothered trying to thwart our driver, but the car's unstoppability means he gets his very own Penelope Pitstop as his prize.

"Cameras"

As far as DAVID can tell, this spot is about a nighttime shoot to show off the advertised car's handling capacity and photogenic qualities. The flash appears to go off by itself at the end, suggesting that even inanimate objects find it irresistible. However, even after several viewings it's hard to remember which model this is.

Peugeot
"Gary's Cat"
30s
25 Dec 2012
This is one of those commercials that probably started life as a fairly edgy script which bears no relation to the finished product. We are briefly introduced to Gary who has lost his cat before being told that his dilemma and sorrow is none of our concern because we don't know him which, in turn, provides an excuse to describe some other things we need not worry about if we buy the advertised car.

Peugeot
"Knockin' On Heaven's Door"
30s
17 Dec 2012
A series of clips showing fists smashing glass, babies reaching out to cactus spikes and hands patting the dying gives way to someone who's evidently had enough of all this and drives off in a Peugeot, accompanied by a jarringly jolly VO and a huge list of supers announcing at the end that "you will not own the car".

Peugeot
"Paperwork"
30s
24 Jan 2012
This cute animated ad draws attention to a special offer which enables punters to pick up a new Peugeot at minimum expense. The car makes it's way through a landscape made of paper and avoids various obstacles placed in its path.

Peugeot
"Turn Heads"
30s
15 Dec 2011
Further proof, as if it were needed, that creatives at advertising agencies don't look beyond their immediate vicinity when seeking inspiration for a new commercial. A man twirls a tablet computer before using it as a prop and extolling the virtues of the advertised car manufacturer.

Peugeot
"Child's Play"
30s
18 May 2011
Children playing with cars are used to remind us of a time when we felt cars could do anything in this attractively filmed ad. At Peugeot, apparently, they never lost that sensation and a rally car speeds past in the last shot to emphasise a sense of excitement.

Peugeot
"Check"
30s
22 Jan 2011
This film advertising Peugeot's dealerships shows satisfied customers comforted by the reassurance that their cars are being looked after by businesses endorsed by the manufacturer. Although this slyly advertises the car itself, it's ostensibly aimed at a very small proportion of the audience... ie: those who own a Peugeot.

Peugeot
"Jigsaw Puzzle"

A jigsaw puzzle motif is used to describe different aspects of a deal offered by the French car manufacturer. All to illustrate their claim that the manufacturers of other cars always leave out something.

It's hard to know for certain whether this is a commercial for Peugeot or for the latest offering from the Ministry of Sound. A collection of vehicles which inspired the latest model from the French car manufacturer explode into their component parts.

Peugeot
"The Monte Carlo Rally"
30s
14 Jan 2010
French car manufacturer Peugeot takes advantage of its sponsorship of Kris Meeke to unveil the year's most obvious pun. The rally driver is shown taking on all comers ahead of the Monte Carlo Rally... a race which is normally won by Terry-Thomas.

30 Nov 2009
In this French ad, a man finds that every time he opens his car door he sees a different person sitting in his seat. Presumably, this is intended to transmit some kind of message about the versatility of the car but it doesn't add up to much.

Peugeot
"Gramophone"

Although the photography is very striking, it's actually the sound design that grabs the imagination in this commercial for Peugeot which appears to demonstrate that any day can be a beautiful day from the comforting innards of the advertised vehicle.

Peugeot
"Multi-Tasking"

Actors are put through their paces in this amusing series of bumpers advertising Peugeot's sponsorship of drama on Channel 4. Director David C Kerr plays the part of the director giving absurdly difficult tasks to the thespians in his charge.

"White Wedding"

1 Sep 2009
Since travelling in the front passenger seat is sometimes called 'riding shotgun', is this a 'shotgun wedding'? A hitch-hiker is picked up by a woman in wedding dress... so far, so disturbing... but she then indicates that he should slip into a white suit and marry her.
