This Israeli commercial for double-stuffed Oreos is... how do we put this delicately... completely bloody bonkers. It focuses on Lickson, the 'World Licking Champ' and his ridiculously oversized tongue. A training montage features press-ups with said tongue, a lot of blue spandex, and some boasting about his licking prowess - no giggling at the back, please.

Oreo continue to push the limits of our eardrums with their Owl City-inspired jingle, but though sensory solace can be found in this ad's animated visuals. Seemingly inspired by a glance at a nearby dessert menu, the American brand add strawberry cheesecake and mint to their range, and the new shades of creme filling take their place in a biscuity kaleidoscope.

It's very hard to get past the dismal 'Wonderfilled Anthem' by Owl City when we watch this. It is a tune of such unpalatable awfulness that it appears literally designed to stop anyone over the age of 7 from watching so a secret message can be conveyed to toddlers around the world. The visual aspect gets its job done but that music... no!

Another piece of animated whimsy suggests that instead of garlic or a big old cross, an Oreo is the best way to deal with a vampire. The sickly-sweet jingle will no doubt grate on some nerves - as will the notion of replacing a British biccie with a cookie - but the animation is pleasing to the eye, as is the notion of Dracula getting his calcium intake.

The chocolate and cream cookie remains a distinctly American confection, but this charming piece of animation presents an enjoyable case for its existence. Apparently, if the big bad wolf had been presented with an Oreo from the beginning the familiar tale might have consisted of DIY and pool parties... and been told through the medium of inoffensive indie pop.

This is one of those pieces of advertising which makes you wonder if your understanding of how commercials are made is as accurate as you think it is. Given how hard it's supposed to be to get approval for an idea, how on earth did this slip past the relevant veto-wielding egomaniac? Was his or her back turned as they sharpened their pencil?

The Oreo has always seemed an unnatural presence in the British biscuit tin. This import may be a popular 'cookie' on the other side of the Atlantic but DAVID has always found the assumption that the British will be willing to adopt the customs associated with it to be an unforgivable act of cultural imperialism. So, we want no part of whatever the hell's going on here.

A delicious piece of work from Oreo sees a small disagreement about the best part of the cookie escalate to epic proportions in a library. Bookshelves fall like rows of dominoes, people wrestle each other off walkways and the police eventually arrive... while throughout, no-one raises their voice above a whisper.

Another brief helping of the marvellous chemistry between a 'dad and his daughter' in a charming commercial for the revolting looking biscuit. The little girl doesn't want to share her Oreo and she's come up with a marvellous rationale to combat her dad's hopes of getting hold of one.

Dad still isn't ready for the Oreos according to his precocious daughter in this sweet addition to the original commercial. He especially isn't ready for "double-stuff Oreos" - a variant which presumably has twice as much of the icky sweet filling as the normal biscuit.

This ad contains one of the most astonishingly charming performances you'll ever see from a child. A little girl who could rival Outnumbered's Ramona Marquez for cuteness explains how you should eat the advertised biscuit to her father but she's not sure he's grasping it the way he should.

A little boy is helped out a few times at school and decides to pass on the favour when the opportunity presents. It's a very old-fashioned piece of advertising and dripping with sentimentality but probably quite suitable for the target market.

Is DAVID alone in finding this revolting? Each ad for Oreo appears to be built around the idea that the biscuit is best eaten without any thought of politeness or good manners. This will only encourage children to duplicate the unedifying display. Horrible.

This unappetising biscuit is now available in a smaller size. If they are as horrible as they look then any reduced variation has a certain appeal. The unexciting way in which it's been announced doesn't suggest it's anything to get hot and bothered about.

Watching his older brother dunk biscuits, a little lad struggles to copy him. Why do ads for Oreo always amplify the sounds of people munching the product... do they imagine that's an appealing noise. It makes DAVID want to kill small animals.

Oreo biscuits have long had cult status among Americans. Now it seems that they have followed obesity and a predilection for unpopular foreign wars in transferring successfully across the Atlantic. In the opening salvo, a little boy shows his dog how to eat one.
