UK TV Programmes

Robot Wars is back, and no machine is safe. Led by Sir Killalot, the house robots descend on an innocent car (we like to think someone on the production lost a bet) and tear it to shreds. The inspired choice to use Elvis's 'Stuck on You' to accompany the destruction turns carnage to comedy, as does the final image of an Elvis bobblehead riding into the sunset on the noble killbot's shoulder.

Comedian and presenter Dara Ó Briain adds therapist to his CV as he aims to understand what makes his off-screen patient tick. After a long absence, it seems they have still have unresolved issues surrounding violence and general carnage. As it turns out, it's none other than metallic icon Sir Killalot - and Robot Wars fans will be glad their hero has lost none of his taste for destruction ahead of the show's return.

"3... 2... 1... activate!" Or should that be "reactivate"? Regardless, Robot Wars has been given a new lease of life with a six-part series on BBC Two. This teaser gives fans a glimpse of some familiar tools of destruction, and the new series promises to satiate fans starved of robot-on-robot violence for too long.
