Ford Mondeo
"Baby Animals"
60s
19 May 2009
UK Cars

Various animals are shown in utero in a remarkable sequence highlighting the miracle of life. The idea being that the advertised car's green credentials will help keep the planet fit for the next generation... but not as much as walking, cycling and public transport would.

eHarmony
"Camel"
30s
22 Jul 2014
eHarmony's advertising has erred on the side of caution since its launch in the UK with an endless series of earnest commercials featuring those who've put their faith in the web site to land them more than a one-night-stand but - possibly having discovered that piety doesn't get you very far in the UK - they've broadcast this excellent ad that makes the same point with a bit of humour.

HP
"Jane"
60s
22 Jul 2015
This lovingly-made ad for HP will ideally persuade viewers to invest in the brand's new workstation, but it may also prompt a stream of adults to pick up their long abandoned paint brushes and rediscover their artistic side. To the sound of 'The Logical Song', we see a little girl's life unfold with a special focus on her creative endeavours.

Persil
"Breakdancing"
50s
22 Jul 2015
As if entertaining the crowds at Glastonbury wasn't enough, prodigal breakdancer B Girl Terra proves to be a dab hand at removing stains as well. We're treated to a highly impressive display of her talents before one show-stopping spin returns her clothes to their clean best. It's entertaining stuff, plus it's refreshing to see a more dynamic treatment of scuffs and stains in this sector.

Libra
"I Am Fearless"
60s
22 Jul 2015
Eye-catching animation and an honest performance from musician Megan Washington combine to make this ad for sanitary brand Libra a rewarding tribute to conquering one's fears. Having dealt with a stutter since an early age, Washington knows full well about the pitfalls that accompany the simplest of sentences.

Renault Modus
"Give It A Rest"
40s
22 Jul 2005
Another ad for the Renault Modus that runs as a conventional car ad before turning into a spoof of one. A pretentious script is read over beautifully filmed black and white scenes of the car moving through various scenes before an exasperated voice cuts in with "give it a rest".

Mini
"Is Your Mini Genuine?"
30s
22 Jul 2005
Tongue-in-cheek ad suggests you make sure your Mini is genuine as it depicts a number of absurd examples of fake minis including an articulated lorry, a horse, a piano and a canal boat all vaguely made to look like a Mini.

Australia
"Richie Benaud"
30s
22 Jul 2005
Former Australian cricket captain and revered commentator Richie Benaud uses his trade-mark commentary catchphrases "marvellous" and "what a shot" in an entirely different context here as he tours Australia and admires the 'marvellous' scenery.

Pimm's
"Folk Song"
10s
22 Jul 2007
Alexander Armstrong reprises his posh twit act at the pop festival at which we saw him arrive in the previous commercial. Here, he sings the last line of a song with a crowd of admiring youngsters whose musical taste, we must assume, have been influenced one way or another by the drinks he has handed out.

Starburst
"Scarecrow"
20s
22 Jul 2007
Amusing ad for Starburst has a young boy leaving half a pack of the mouth-watering sweets in the top pocket of a scarecrow. Since the creature's hands are secured on posts, this turns out to be an inadvertent tease as, despite his struggles, he cannot reach them.

IKEA
"Dress"
30s
22 Jul 2009
This Irish commercial for Ikea focuses on the positive side of refusing to conform. It's a beautifully filmed scene with young girls arriving for their first communion. One of their number causes quite a stir because she has gone against the standard sartorial choice.

Asda George
"Hide And Seek"
30s
22 Jul 2009
This charming film for Asda's George range depicts a game of hide and seek taking place in a playground as a voiceover explains that the supermarket guarantees its school clothing for 100 days which, frighteningly, is longer than most of their competition.

Sainsbury's
"Country Show"
30s
22 Jul 2009
The Sainsbury's family attend an outdoor event which includes a cooking demonstration proving that it's possible to create interesting food for less than a fiver. The Sainsbury's approach compares favourably with other supermarkets' more insistent approach.

TCM
"Lose Yourself In Film"
60s
22 Jul 2010
A figure walks amongst a curtain formed from strips of film to a swirling piano score to illustrate the idea of losing yourself in film. The experience of the advertised channel doesn't quite square with this stylised depiction as you will know if you've ever watched it.

TCM
"Idents"
75s
22 Jul 2010
A series of idents for Turner's Classic Movies which uses a series of grandiose images to catch the spirit of the silver screen. It's worth bearing in mind that it's only on Sites like ours that these clips are compiled together like this. They'll work better in isolation.

Sky Broadband
"Aladdin"
40s
22 Jul 2010
Another in the fairytale series for Sky broadband takes a second look at the confrontation between Aladdin and the Genie. This time Aladdin taunts his supernatural acquaintance about his inability to grant combo wishes.

match.com
"Ukulele"
30s
22 Jul 2011
A man charmingly serenades an attractive woman on the opposite tube platform. She smiles wryly at his efforts but appears to have given him the slip. Match.com continues to be advertised as a veritable haven for soft romantics who think nothing of ukulele-led seduction.

Compare The Market
"House Call"
40s
22 Jul 2011
Sarah Roberts is a bit shocked to get a visit from Aleksandr Orlov and his sidekick Sergei when the duo deliver a small cuddly toy as a reward for using the advertised website. The meerkats are a little nervous of Sarah's dog who watches proceedings with interest.

Tesco
"Strawberries"
40s
22 Jul 2013
Another helping of loveliness for the much-maligned supermarket. This new approach has made Tesco's future suddenly look a lot brighter and if W+K are allowed to continue in this vein, it won't be long before the confidence on view here is mirrored by increased revenue and profits.

Andrex
"Rollophobia"
30s
22 Jul 2013
There's an idea in here somewhere but as it stands, this doesn't quite work. Putting off throwing away your cardboard toilet roll interiors isn't a cure for the fear of changing them, it's merely procrastination. Plus the VO sounds like an aggrieved call centre worker who's taken an instant dislike to you and refuses to offer any constructive help whatsoever.

Apple
"Stickers"
30s
22 Jul 2014
This is rather a lovely way for Apple to make the point that one of their MacBooks will be at the centre of your working and domestic life... if you choose to buy one. Animation and music combine for a ride through the different cultural influences that have an impact on the tech company's clientele and - despite the challenges they face from increasingly confident rivals - Apple's advertising always manages to stress the idea that it's the daddy in its sector.

Shreddies
"Good News Channel"
20s
22 Jul 2015
While their bid for election glory was thwarted earlier this year, the Shreddies Nanas bounce back with their own news channel. Chucking impartiality out the window, their remit is all about reporting on their range of sugary cereals. The set design is especially good - it's as if they invaded the BBC and told Huw Edwards to scram... ever so politely, obviously.

Johnstone's
"Paint Types"
30s
22 Jul 2015
The "Here's to all you..." angle has proved popular recently and Jonestone's are the latest brand to get in on the act with their national TV bow. All manner of free spirits, ultra-cautious preppers, and oh-so helpful supervisors are depicted using the paint company's gloop to colourful effect. The nicely-realised scenarios and lively pace combine to make a fetching commercial that'll appeal to DIY enthusiasts on a mission.

McDonald's
"Smokehouse Burger"
30s
22 Jul 2015
One detects a whiff of M&S in the air in this appetising McDonald's commercial - and it's a rather enjoyable one too. Each ingredient that makes up the restaurant's new Smokehouse Burger receives its moment in the spotlight thanks to lovely photography and zippy editing. The director was acclaimed DP Stephen Keith-Roach... which is interesting.

Aldi
"Back To School"
20s
22 Jul 2015
Seems like the kids have only just gone on their holidays and it's already time to think about restocking their school wardrobe. Luckily Aldi have got parents sorted with their range of schoolwear designed to cope with every schoolyard stain. This ad does a nice job of highlighting their persuasive pricing while keeping things appropriately light-hearted.

Sky Sports
"Beckham's Run"
60s
22 Jul 2016
David Beckham always seems to be running somewhere, doesn't he? In this case he appears to be jogging through last football season and reminding himself of all its unlikely twists and turns. This serves to remind us that a new season will begin shortly and with Leicester having broken the mould, we surely don't know what to expect.
