Ford
"Metamorphosis"
60s
19 May 2012
UK Cars

Ford appear to be claiming that the advertised model is all things to all people in this ad that sees its colour metamorphose to suit those admiring it from the street. Strangely, this has the effect of making the viewer pay less attention to the vehicle's unusual shape than might be expected.

Adidas
"Go All In"
60s
28 Jul 2011
Adidas prove they're still the coolest kids in town when it comes to global advertising with this thoroughly engaging piece backed by a great track - New Thing by Rye Rye. The athletes on show are all women but the ad wisely lets this speak for itself.

Johnsonville
"Ballad of Bratsgiving"
2 mins 05s
28 Jul 2015
The fruitful union between Johnsonville and Droga5 produces another bonkers treat as the brand aim to get their name on the calendar with a day celebrating all things brat. To celebrate Bratsgiving, Johnsonville and venerable sausage songsmith Leon Sunday have teamed up for "The Ballad of Bratsgiving", available in all formats including tape, vinyl, and even that newfangled CD thing. And - to use the parlance of these particular ads - there's much, much more!

Pizza Hut
"Boys And Gadgets"
30s
28 Jul 2006
Fairly standard images are given another dimension by an overblown male voiceover (imagine Brian Cox doing an impersonation of Brian Blessed and you are halfway there). The talk is of boys and their gadgets as we see young male children fighting over their various gizmos.

E4
"Giant Purple Cow"
60s
28 Jul 2006
Very amusing piece has Russell Brand saving the day when a giant purple cow starts terrorising the people of Edinburgh. This does offer an explanation of sorts to residents of Scotland's capital who are wondering quite how it is that one of this year's Festival venues resembles a prone purple cow.

Holby City
"Dr Beauchamp"
15s
28 Jul 2008
According to the BBC's Holby City Web Site... "Connie [Beauchamp] is an outstanding surgeon who wields her power just as comfortably in the boardroom as in the bedroom." So it would seem... here the little sexpot does something of a Mrs Peel in a bid to attract new viewers to the sudsy hospital drama.

Children's Workforce Development Council
"Carer"
45s
28 Jul 2009
This is the best in this series of films urging us to ask ourselves if we have what it takes to become a 'social worker'. A little girl asks lots of interested questions and throws out compliments to mask her own loneliness.

Wall's Smokey Sizzler
"Granny Glider (Long Version)"
2 mins
28 Jul 2010
Longer versions of commercials can be a bit of a chore to watch but not on this occasion. An extended look at the seventy-eight-year-old glider enthusiast allows more time for us to be impressed by her spirit of adventure and joie de vivre.

Viasat
"Let The World Come To You"
45s
28 Jul 2010
This examination of what football means to its many fans around the world successfully captures something of the spirit that gave rise to one of Bill Shankley's most famous utterance's: "football isn't a matter of life and death... it's much more important than that."

Direc TV
"Opulence"
30s
28 Jul 2010
A Russian oligarch displays his vulgar wealth while explaining his disdain for opulence. He's happy then to take advantage of a special offer from the advertised supplier of cable television packages which enables him to get five months for free.

Sky Sports
"Only On Sky"
30s
28 Jul 2010
Another glimpse of the action filmed in a park to promote Sky Sports's football coverage. In this edit, the team get down and dirty as they join in with the young players despite being attired in completely inappropriate clothes.

Shell
"Scan"
30s
28 Jul 2010
There's a lot in the words "up to", isn't there? Shell have developed a new fuel which can save you "up to a litre" per tank. Now, had they said "at least" a litre, we might have been impressed but since a droplet falls within the range defined by "up to a litre", we're not.

Barclays
"That Guy"
40s
28 Jul 2013
You don't want to be that guy, according to this clever ad for Barclays. We all know who that guy is (if you don't - then it's probably you) and this is a lovely way to draw attention to a service provided by Barclays that will help that guy manage his money and his friendships a little bit better.

Aviva
"Bingo Caller"
30s
28 Jul 2014
Paul Whitehouse is transmogrified into a bingo caller this time around in Aviva's campaign. In between calling out random numbers, his cheery Lancastrian character tells us all about the Aviva Drive app which helps him save money on his car insurance. Interesting that his car itself is clearly branded - Ford, to be precise: where do they fit in?

Suzuki
"I Put A Spell On You"
40s
28 Jul 2014
There's something agreeably old-fashioned about this ad for the Suzuki Swift which has the car stalking a young man as he makes his way through town. We see what he doesn't - that he keeps missing the opportunity to admire and find out more about the vehicle. Presumably, the underlying message is about not missing out because of prejudice against the brand, but it's quite subtle.

Virgin Media
"Victory Dancer"
20s
28 Jul 2015
Virgin Media's animal kingdom receives another new addition in the form of Steve. As well possessing beautiful plumage, he's also a footie fan, and he has no problem boasting when his team scores. Alas, his colourful display is a little premature on this occasion. Thanks to Virgin Media, however, he'll have plenty more chances to strut with their Sky Sports and BT Sport coverage.

Volfas Engelman
"One More Story"
50s
28 Jul 2015
The Lithuanian section of the DAVID Reviews site was looking a little forlorn until this slick and stylish number for Volfas Engelman showed up. A trio of sharp-suited gentlemen use guile and charm to evade a suspicious doorman and crash the biggest night in town. It's a fun caper set to a toe-tapping score and one that posits the brand as the discerning party animal's choice.

Marmite
"Summer of Love Not Hate"
52s
28 Jul 2015
This fun piece of animation launches Marmite's 'Summer of Love Not Hate' - though in fairness, this initiative could just as easily have been dubbed the 'Summer of Hate Not Love'. Richard Flintham and Andy McLeod's conceit still has legs... the idea is strong enough to fuel Marmite's advertising for many years to come and the current custodians are having a lot of fun with it.

Clarks
"Harlem Spin"
30s
28 Jul 2015
Unless you were one of the lucky few who managed to persuade your parents to buy the shoes with flashing lights in the soles, you probably won't remember school footwear too fondly. However, the fight against the back-to-school blues is well and truly on with this action-packed Clarks ad in which a young boy's shoes decide to show him how school can be awesome when you choose to walk tall.

Clarks
"Tizz Hope"
20s
28 Jul 2015
Jenny's new pair of Clarks shoes convince her she'll mean business when she arrives at school, though the footwear duo aren't initially up to scratch in conjuring her dramatic entrance. The cartoon approach does an enjoyable job of wrapping the purchase of school shoes in a little imagination and hubris without besmirching the brand's heritage.

Nurofen
"The Obvious Choice"
30s
28 Jul 2016
Nurofen have switched the focus of their advertising and it's a wise move. After the slap on the wrist they received for claiming the ibuprofen in their products moves through the body like determined Navy Seals in search of specific areas of pain, they have sensibly opted for a more digestible claim in this bright piece of work.

Samsung
"Jack Tries Boxing"
60s
28 Jul 2016
Round three of Jack Whitehall's Olympic trials for Samsung appropriately sees the comedian enter the boxing ring with Team Ireland's Katie Taylor and Joe Ward. Chivalry doesn't get Whitehall very far as the comedian feels the full force of a Taylor onslaught before 'landing' a glove of his own. While the advertised Galaxy S7 Edge isn't as fortified as Whitehall's midriff, it's still got enough in defence to sway smartphone buyers.

IKEA
"Crispbread"
37s
28 Jul 2016
Next on the Ikea menu is crispbread hors d'oeuvres, and this two-in-one chef makes a gleeful mess of applying cheese, figs, seeds, and honey to their crunchy slices. There is method to the madness, however, and the duo's sense of fun is conveyed well as the Swedish retailer continues to instil as much spontaneity into our kitchen spaces as possible... even if the work surfaces have to bear the messy brunt.

IKEA
"Cheese Balls"
34s
28 Jul 2016
Another handsy execution from Ikea sees this young man prepare some cheese balls with some help from an extra pair of 'arms'. The cultured score and kitchen counter choreography make for an entertaining watch, and the brand's new focus on making a song and dance out of food preparation continues to be well-served by these shorts directed by tantrum's Stephen Pipe.

IKEA
"Mocktail"
44s
28 Jul 2016
This is one of several amusing new pieces for IKEA which back up their proposition that we should all be having a lot more fun in the kitchen. It's a familiar comic stunt... one person stands behind another, providing their 'arms' and attempting to execute something quite tricky. In this case, the objective is to make a cocktail. As you might expect, not everything goes entirely to plan but there's a lot of laughter and the frivolity neatly serves the core proposition.

Mercedes-Benz
"All Roads: Horses"
20s
28 Jul 2005
The car helps its driver to a rendezvous on a beach… possibly the one where they film that tourist ad for Ireland with all the horses thundering down the beach.
