45s
23 Oct 2017
Unflappable Roger Federer is tested to the limit by his live-in robot in this commercial for a coffee machine. Arriving home after a tough day on the court, he looks pleased to be greeted by his artificial home-help. Everything is going swimmingly until his cyber-butler offers him a coffee made using a pod.

Blue Planet II
"Deep Blue"
60s
23 Oct 2017
The BBC like their sequels, don’t they? The channel entranced animal lovers with 2016’s Planet Earth II; now they revisit the life aquatic with - you guessed it - Blue Planet II. Ahead of the series premiere, Rattling Stick’s David Edwards takes us on a musical dive. A worthy prelude to David Attenborough’s seven-part swim.

Adidas
"Detroit"
60s
23 Oct 2017
This atmospheric film from Adidas explores the creativity still alive and kicking in Detroit. Director Philip Andelman focuses on finding the beauty in decay, with gritty shots of artists in abandoned rooms as they detail their creative philosophies in voiceover. It's a moody piece, with great lighting work which enhances the meditative atmosphere.

The Fawcett Society
"When I Grow Up"
71s
23 Oct 2017
Yann Gorriz’s ADCAN Awards 2017 entry promotes the Fawcett Society’s ongoing fight against gender discrimination. A girl shares her aspirations in the bathroom mirror. Despite her ambition, she reveals what’s required to get ahead in a man’s world. The charity hope decades of progress don’t come to a grinding halt now.

BBC Sport
"Rugby League World Cup"
30s
23 Oct 2017
The giants return to herald the beginning of the Rugby League World Cup on BBC Sport. The distinctively angular animation of the figures stands out, as boulder-shouldered players traverse the globe in order to get their hands on the trophy. Barns Courtney's 'Champion' offers a fist-pumping, foot-stomping soundtrack to the action.

Rowse
"Winter Survival"
1 min 48s
23 Oct 2017
Rowse update a familiar fairy tale for the modern world in their latest ad campaign. The brand have created an upbeat online cooking series to tempt viewers into putting more honey on their porridge, and 'The Three Bears' stars, as you may expect, three bears - although possibly not the bears you're thinking of...

Lexus
"Say Yes"
45s
23 Oct 2017
Lexus position themselves as the city slicker’s choice in this curious looking film. A couple sample everything the metropolis has to offer, including street food, rooftop cinemas, and, er, all-night perfume shops. The little bursts of freeze-frames work against the flow of the ad and it ends up being the kind of car ad that passes you by without impact.

Superdrug
"Scare in Style"
20s
19 Oct 2017
Superdrug give you the ability to scare in style this Halloween with their range of creepy costume accoutrements. The 20" clip, accompanied by a blast of Jessie J's 'Bang Bang', is a colourful burst of energy which offers us a breakneck glimpse at some of the products on offer. Stylish and sassy, the dynamic approach is sure to grab attention.

Sainsbury's
"Costumes"
20s
19 Oct 2017
More ghoulish fare from the supermarket sector: this time, Sainsbury’s transform these youngsters into witches, vampires, and skeletons. Monochrome visuals and twitchy choreography gives this an old-school horror vibe - “Mwahahahaha!”, indeed. Orange Supermarket trust these costumes will satisfy discerning trick-or-treaters.

Oxo
"Change of Plan"
30s
22 Oct 2017
Oxo’s modern family return for more clunky domesticity. Dad is forced to improvise when judo lessons and cinema night are cancelled. What’s that old adage about best laid plans? Good thing he has more than one recipe in the bank, at least. The aim here is gentle observational humour but it feels a bit laboured.

Gran Turismo Sport
"Anniversary"
30s
23 Oct 2017
Sony’s flagship racer marks its long-awaited return with a drive back in time. Scored by the game’s signature countdown noise, the ad charts Gran Turismo’s changing looks from its PS1 debut to the 4K era. Racing games are a popular showcase for console graphics - looks like PS4 Pro owners will appreciate the extra wax and polish.

Paypal
"Travel Man"
30s
20 Oct 2017
Paypal have shrewdly cast Richard Ayoade's body double in this ad which ties into his 'Travel Man' series. We see the bloke getting ready for his holidays - booking flights, packing the essentials (except clothes), and heading to the airport. He pays for it all via Paypal, of course, although the preoccupation with his phone gets him into hot water at security...

Device Free Dinner
"Cat Filter"
30s
20 Oct 2017
Another in this series of films reminding the audience how important it is to put down our phones occasionally has a family competing with each other about how much their miss their dad. All is not as it seems, as you'll already suspect if you've seen one of the other films. An excellent use of dark humour.

Device Free Dinner
"Something You Did Today"
60s
20 Oct 2017
Will Ferrell stars in this film encouraging all of us to spend less time staring at our mobile phones when we should be communing with our families. By making dad the focal point and by being so darkly funny, the film slips past the defensiveness of younger viewers and stands a chance of making them rethink their own tendency to allow their phones to dominate their inter-actions with the rest of the world.

giffgaff
"2am"
60s
20 Oct 2017
As we've said before, giffgaff is to Halloween as John Lewis is to Christmas. Each year they put themselves under pressure to create something even more spectacular and in 2017, they've once again succeeded. To understand this film and giffgaff's whole preoccupation with Halloween, you have to first of all examine the telecom company's relationship with its punters.

The End of the F***ing World
"James and Alyssa"
60s
19 Oct 2017
Stink's Jonathan Entwistle is the director behind this intriguing new series on Channel 4. Looking like a trail for an independent movie, it introduces us to a pair of teen protagonists who appear to be involved in a considerable misadventure. Tonally, it reminds DAVID of both Wes Anderson's work and Richard Ayoade's debut feature 'Submarine'... in a good way. A really good way.

Nissan
"Lazy Ponies"
90s
20 Oct 2017
This Nissan ad offers a zany spin on horsepower. When this bloke’s truck conks out, he struggles to motivate the equine workforce under the bonnet. Perhaps a blast of “Pretty Pretty Ponies” will do the trick. Obnoxious and buck-toothed, these feckless ponies have their owner licked. Fortunately, Nissan’s TITAN fleet gets the job done - no song and dance required.

John Lewis
"Space"
30s
20 Oct 2017
Any John Lewis ad which appears at this time of year is bound to pique interest... but unfortunately this isn't that John Lewis ad. It is, however, a really clever piece of work which shows off their homeware range to great effect. Rapid cuts give a stop-motion effect as we see products in different configurations, all to a cool, synth-driven soundtrack. Polished work.

Bose
"Young"
30s
20 Oct 2017
So this is how the NFL elite stay in top nick. Veteran wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald still has a skip in his step, according to this Bose commercial. He indulges his inner child when presented with a hopscotch grid and we imagine his Arizona Cardinals teammates will be impressed. While rivals Beats favour a grittier approach, Bose opt for playful and sun-kissed.

Stand Up For Cancer
"Jamie's Story"
3 mins 35s
20 Oct 2017
Shot for Channel 4’s Stand Up to Cancer telethon, this affecting film follows judo player Jamie MacDonald as he contemplates an uncertain future. Diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour, twenty-four-year-old MacDonald insists he’ll "get a few big throws in along the way”. A stark reminder of cancer’s indiscriminate nature.

TUI
"You in the Middle"
90s
20 Oct 2017
TUI née Thomson must have wondered: “How do we celebrate our new name?”. Why, with Chaka Khan, of course. From air cabins to swimming pools, a lilting cover of ‘Ain’t Nobody’ scores this holiday hoedown. It’s bright, reassuring fare - at a time when budget airlines are struggling, TUI project continuity and reliability.

Assassin's Creed Origins
"I Am... "
90s
20 Oct 2017
The unstoppable Daniel Wolfe offers a live action take on the world of Assassin's Creed Origins in this dramatic ad. Origins explores the roots of the game's mythos, and this film offers a gritty snapshot of its Ancient Egyptian setting. We see the ancient world in all its brutality here, with a level of detail which communicates the dust and dirt among the pyramids and pharaohs.

Royal Mail
"Redirection"
20s
20 Oct 2017
Royal Mail warn us about the dangers of forgetting to redirect mail when we move house in this straightforward ad. Identity theft can easily occur if a few private letters are opened, as illustrated by a stereotypical-looking criminal who smashes open an envelope like a window. It's blunt and to the point, taking a no-frills approach to get the message across succinctly.

Adidas
"Chasing Shadows"
33s
20 Oct 2017
The prospect of marking Lionel Messi is enough to give any defender goosebumps. This shadowy Adidas commercial sees the Barcelona and Argentina forward weave his way through the darkness - aided by the brand's new Nemesis boot. Frenzied breaths and dynamic camerawork posit Messi as every defender’s worst nightmare.

Lidl
"Terroir"
60s
20 Oct 2017
Lidl send another dissenting voice on holiday in this ad dedicated to showing the quality of their wine. A woman gets delivered to Saint-Emilion after comparing the plonk to mouthwash, and finds herself put to work picking grapes before she gets to try the wine itself. The inclusion of mobile phone footage gives the campaign an authentic feel.
