A group of lads find themselves in dire need of some sausage in the latest ad for Peperami. One creative chap amplifies his grumbling stomach - which doesn't exactly please the neighbours - until Animal comes kicking down their door to deliver meat snacks. We can't help missing the more anarchic version of the character, he feels a bit tame here.

If you're the world's most hot-tempered meat product, a day on the set of the 'Angry Birds' movie (for that is indeed a thing) must feel like a dream come true. To celebrate the launch of the successful mobile game franchise's cinematic iteration, Animal reaches Stanley Kubrick levels of retakes while he perfects his slingshot action - much to the consternation of his feathered co-star.

Like Patrick Süskind's anti-hero Jean-Baptiste Grenouille, a stick of pastry-encased Peperami launches itself into an adoring, baying mob of other Peperamis who proceed to consume it. We can only assume it's the outer crust that smells irresistible to them, or there would be an orgy of cannibalism going on that would make The Walking Dead look like the Queen's Garden Party.

More blink and you'll miss 'em antics from the anthropomorphic meat product - luckily we have lightning reflexes. These attempts at jump scares are in aid of promoting the brand's website, but considering their mascot's distinguished career in outright destruction, we can't help but feel underwhelmed by these rather tame flash cuts.

A pair of very naughty Peperami decide to go to a drive-in cinema - only it's not a drive-in, and they're doing more of a gatecrash. The spot's to promote free movie tickets, and the sheer energy packed into such a short space of time is very effective. You're not going to think this is promoting a trip to Legoland, that's for sure.

This short teaser is designed to build our excitement about a new wave of Peperami commercials. Strangely, they appear to be being broadcast after the first of the ads they tease about has hit our telly boxes. Well, either that or these are teasing something else altogether... which seems improbable. We'll keep an eye out and let you know.

The ever-energetic character enlists the help of a couple of friends to launch him down a check-out conveyer belt, obliterating the snack competition in the process. Something of a return to the mascot's destructive tendencies, but this 10" ad lacks the verve which made previous efforts so memorable.

The volatile Peperami stick watches TV, contemptuously commenting "what a waste" as the screen shows uneaten salad ingredients being thrown away. His idea of five a day is somewhat different. Ah well. The target audience isn't one in which healthy eating is a priority, we suspect, so fair enough.

The animal character tells us about a new product variation. Have they dropped Ade Edmondson as well as Lowe? Whatever they've done, they appear to have thrown the baby out with bath water as this lacks the edge of the earlier work.

A typical piece of slapstick to advertise a new variant of the snack that is described as 'a bit of an animal'. Adrian Edmondson provides the voice for the creature which manages to impale itself on a spike and get suspended over the hot coals of a barbecue.

Another splendidly anarchic piece for the meaty snack has the animated protagonist (voiced as ever by Ade Edmondson) explaining how he stays so tender. He smears himself with apple sauce and then exfoliates by lobbing himself down a waste disposal unit.

Ade Edmondson puts in another wonderful performance as the snack food with a tendency to self-mutilation. In this tongue-in-cheek addition he bemoans the fact that he's misunderstood and is, in fact, very tender underneath... something he illustrates by ripping part of his surface away and revealing the tender meat beneath.

An addition to this excellent long-running campaign has the main character getting 'junior' ready for his first day at school. What the youngster doesn't realise is that it will also be his last as it gets chucked into a waiting lunchbox.

Ah Peperami... the meat snack takes on some foods that try to intimidate it in a posh delicatessen (is there any other kind?) They soon run off then they see he is "packing meat". A bit of an animal indeed... specifically the bits you'd probably prefer not to think about... if you get our drift.

Another unsuspecting innocent has eaten one of Peperami's World Cup toys in the mistaken belief that it has as much as nutritional value as one of the meat-based snacks. DAVID would find it a hard choice between the two.

A man is disturbed to hear strange noises emerging from the belly of his dog. His best guess is that the pooch has foolishly consumed a talking toy available to consumers of the dubioous meat snack. Come to think of it, suggesting a carnivorous canine can't tell the difference between a peprami and a plastic toy might not be wise.
