Samsung take a dramatic approach to battery life in this effective ad for their wireless charging function. A series of vignettes introduce dramatic scenes of rescue, but all is not what it seems...

The beauty of this ad is that it builds up the expectation of melodrama, before subverting tropes with beautifully understated performances.

The reluctant scrabble under the sofa for a charger cable, the irritable eye roll of a man trying not to wake up his bedmate - these everyday reactions relatably evoke the anxiety of a rapidly-dying battery while contrasting nicely with the onscreen drama. Clever work.

This rapid montage by M. Blash for Samsung's new Galaxy Tab S3 is all about creativity. We see the tech in action via quick cuts, as the product jumps between being used as a notepad, laptop, and canvas. The slick visuals and rhythmic soundtrack make the S3 look like the cool alternative to pen and paper, ready to capture lighting-fast flashes of inspiration at any moment.

This whimsical ad for the Samsung Max Space fridge depicts a kid creatively passing the time. While the film was created with local concerns in mind - many Ukrainian kitchens need to be smart with space - the emotional message is universal as it shows the boy counting down the days until his dad comes back from working at a polar station.

This ad for Samsung's Galaxy S8 and S8+ sees two sisters indulging in a spot of phone-based sibling rivalry. While one woman has online shopping woes, passcode problems, and blurry pictures, the other is always one step ahead with her brand new Samsung. That is, until her sister shows up with the slightly bigger 'plus' version and finally pulls ahead.

"No pain, no gain", as the old adage goes. New Zealand BMX rider Sarah Walker has experienced plenty of the former. Sixteen broken bones only scratch the surface in this Samsung film. Ruled out of the Rio 2016 Olympics due to injury, Walker says the only way forward is to embrace her setbacks.

Forget thinkpieces grumbling about millennials being glued to their phones, this visually-stunning piece of work from Leo Burnett in Chicago - and directed by Rogue's Mark Zibert - demonstrates the ways technology brings us closer together. It's used to capture the first pictures of a newborn, playing games, and sharing amazing sights from afar, with Samsung doing an excellent job to position their tech as life-enhancing.

Samsung have partnered with All 4 to produce this new series starring The Last Leg's Alex Brooker. The comedian claims to be a fan of all things smart technology... though he's more keen for an early finish. When told he's still got a promo to cut, Brooker has a simple solution. Where would tech brands like Samsung be without "zoomy shots", eh?

Virtual Reality hasn't quite taken off in the fashion many hoped it would but - in this splendid commercial for Samsung - we're offered a super illustration of the impact it has on a creature dreaming of a different kind of take-off altogether, The animal in question is an ostrich who accidentally slips its face into a VR headset and discovers a brave new world in which he's unencumbered by flightlessness.

The era of having to pretend to like terrible Christmas presents is over. Put down the socks, Auntie June: this year you can gift your family virtual reality headsets to whisk them away from stilted get-togethers, or webcams and smartwatches to enhance their future adventures. They're probably all extra fireproof by now, too.

This film is a compilation of some of the bloopers and outtakes from Samsung's campaign around the Olympics this summer. Jack Whitehall is at his funniest unscripted, trying - and failing - to learn to behave like an Olympic athlete. Particular highlights include the wee man annoying Bradley Wiggins. No swans were harmed in the making of this ad... we hope.

Another of the amusing retreads of familiar ads which appeared in a single ad break during Channel 4's 'The Last Leg'. This time, one of Jack Whitehall's amusing examinations of paralympic sport is given an extra layer as three signers describe what's going on for those who can't hear the words... adding their own play-acting into the bargain.

Jack Whitehall again confirms he's, erm, a Jack of all sports and master of none in the latest Samsung commercial celebrating the Paralympics. This time, the comedian joins Natasha Baker and Lee Pearson for a dressage tutorial. Despite looking the part and displaying some equine reversing skills, it's safe to say Whitehall is unlikely to be picking up any medals.

Having tested the patience of Team GB's Olympic heroes earlier this summer, Jack Whitehall now joins Susie Rodgers and Ellie Simmonds at poolside ahead of the Paralympic Games. The duo prove to be more than a match for Whitehall as he questions why only he's compelled to sweat on the exercise bike, while his efforts in the water are more sink than swim.

Samsung and Leo Burnett are to be applauded for an ambitious idea even if it does err on the side of corniness. It's racked up a huge number of online viewings so it must be doing something right but you don't have to be a cynic to feel uneasy at a purified vision of the world being promoted by a corporation during a year that's bound to go down as one of the most divisive in all human history.

Round three of Jack Whitehall's Olympic trials for Samsung appropriately sees the comedian enter the boxing ring with Team Ireland's Katie Taylor and Joe Ward. Chivalry doesn't get Whitehall very far as the comedian feels the full force of a Taylor onslaught before 'landing' a glove of his own. While the advertised Galaxy S7 Edge isn't as fortified as Whitehall's midriff, it's still got enough in defence to sway smartphone buyers.

"Jack Tries Rowing"

Jack Whitehall shows he's without a paddle when it comes to rowing... or recognising five-time Olympic medallists. After narrowly negotiating a conversation with Sir Steve Redgrave and fellow Olympic champion Helen Glover, it doesn't take long for Whitehall's stint as coxswain to result in a, erm, career-ending injury. Another amusing execution from the brand, and a neat way of communicating their tech's water-resistant credentials.

Those who enjoyed Jack Whitehall's tragicomic attempts to mix it with the England rugby union team last year won't be surprised to learn the comedian has opted for alternative pursuits. This lovely ad for Samsung reminds us of the Currys PC World commercial where a dog is framed for a crime it didn't commit in the name of its owner getting a new laptop. The gag is multiplied here and it's just as amusing. This lot seem strangely relaxed about potential threats to their TV sets. In fact, they try their best to steer them towards their telly boxes.

Well, Samsung settles it - even warriors with mystical powers need to do a weekly shop. This fun commercial depicts a master pushing his apprentice to the limit by filling his trolley to the brim, but great evil then strikes in the form of his card being rejected at the till. Luckily, the clued-up pupil simply uses the Samsung Pay app to restore the balance... though it doesn't look to do much for his promotion prospects.

Jack Whitehall must be enjoying the restorative effects of an ice bath as it's up to England's current crop of players to continue Samsung's 'School of Rugby' campaign. Maintaining the irreverent tone of the comedian's ads, these online bumpers see the likes of Joe Launchbury and George Ford firm up our knowledge of the sport. Potentially invaluable snippets for those still coming to grips with the sport as the World Cup reaches its climax.
