Sky Creative prove there's still a fresh interpretation left in the marketing build-up for 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' with this vivid trail for the broadcaster's Star Wars channel.

Like a storyboard come to life, iconic moments and settings from the series are compiled into one seamless piece of storytelling. Even the divisive prequels benefits from MPC's impressive lick of paint - something George Lucas will no doubt be thankful for.

Given the wealth of material at their disposal, the creative team have done a good job of establishing each film's identity in mere seconds. Regardless, fans will have own views on which moments could have featured in this montage... and what better way to help make their minds up by watching the whole saga again on Sky Movies.

This is a super way of conveying the idea that you're spoilt for choice when you have a subscription to Sky Movies. A whole series of short vignettes show families getting ready to watch a film together... the genres are varied and so are the scenarios but the common thread - as you might expect - is Sky Movies because they'll be providing the content.

The elder statesmen of epic blockbusters has already aimed an ad at couples, asking when was the last time they couldn't get a movie out of their heads. It was a tad portentous - only reasonable when you think who's delivering the lines - but here, directing his questions at families and children, it's lighter. And you do get to see him being hit in the face with with a foam pie, so there's that.

"Harrison Ford"

Harrison Ford - looking more and more like an elder statesman - asks us to rummage in the dusty recesses of our minds for the last time a film had a particular effect on us. Which one couldn't we stop thinking about, or really had to watch, or made us miss our stop (because we couldn't stop thinking about it?). He asks us from different settings to ensure we get the picture, so's to speak.

Sky is promising to invoke the wonder of Disney in their latest TV campaign. CGI sparkles decorate London and transform a pair of dogs into 101 dalmatians (well, not quite that many - but enough to give the idea). A dedicated Disney channel is available to those who subscribe to the broadcaster's other movie channels.

This lovely film for Sky Movies has a little girl explaining to her younger sister how it is possible for so many movies to be delivered to their home. Don't take notes though... we've a feeling that not every aspect of her account is entirely reliable. A thoroughly charming reminder of Sky Movies's claim to be part of Christmas.

"All The Bonds"

This cleverly compiled sequence creates an epic car chase involving all of the actors who've played James Bond*. Some cunning post-production and editing combine to make it look just about plausible that these clips came from the same movie.
* In the mainstream movies made by Cubby Broccoli and his descendants.

"Kate Winslet"

It's funny how the presence of a major star in a television commercial always seems to result in a wistful performance. It's as if the enormity of securing the services of said celebrity tips the whole thing off balance in a bid to persuade the audience to share the wonder of it all.

"Darcy's Phone Call"

Various clichéd movie characters are watching a film on the advertised satellite channel when the telephone rings. What follows is an amusing, if slightly confusing, piece of interplay as the case is made to keep the film running rather than allowing it to be interrupted.

This attractively-filmed commercial for Sky Movies shows people getting ready for the weekend on a Friday evening before settling down in front of the television to enjoy a movie on the advertised service. Apparently, Sky HD's premières are now shown on Friday.

Every time DAVID gets into a lift or travels on a train, he is reminded of the degree to which our society caters to those with visual impairment. Thank heavens audio descriptions can be turned off... as worthwhile as they are, they would drive DAVID insane if he had to listen to them all the time

Sky really seems to favour the montage approach to advertising... here, a number of arrows have been found in picturesque locations to illustrate the ease with which one can find movies now that Sky has reorganised them by genre. Lee Marvin warbles on in the background.

A clever lateral illustration of what Sky Movies clearly regards as its USP... the absence of advertising... in this extremely diverting ad directed by Sara Dunlop of Home Corp. The empty billboards makes the point that Sky's movies can be enjoyed without interruption.
