MINI and Visit Britain encourage us to take a staycation in this scenic film. Snowdonia, Cheddar Gorge, and the wonderfully-named Durdle Door are just some of the locations we can explore - preferably in the advertised Countryman. Meanwhile, Facebook user 'Diana Rothe' nails her colours to the mast: “Love both Wales and MINI”. Good for her.

This fantastic vintage film for Mini by Daniel Wolfe feels as timeless as it is compelling. We watch John Cooper oversee the building of the first racing Mini, even as he's told it will never work. This becomes a mantra, a soundbite repeated along with others which build up into a cacophony of doubt... all accompanying footage of the car proving the haters wrong.

Are you in or out? That's the pressing issue in this ad for Mini, showcasing five different models aimed at young, outdoorsy people who embrace adventure like the rest of us would embrace a hot water bottle on a cold night. If you like rock climbing, surfing, ping pong (yes), and being uber-fashionable while you do it all, this is the car for you.

It seems Jake Bugg has plenty of fans in the car sector. The Nottingham singer's 'Lightning Bolt' was used extensively by Vauxhall in recent times, and now it scores this Mini Countryman ad. We're sure audiences will be able to differentiate, but it just goes to show how a track can become tied to a particular brand.

One of three expressive films directed by Lisa Gunning for the Mini Countryman. As this man walks through an ultra-modern office building, we realise his mind is elsewhere. In his own time, he enjoys taking in the sights and sounds of the countryside. Soft visuals and well-calibrated sound design create a convincing shift from work to play.

One of three expressive films directed by Lisa Gunning for the Mini Countryman. This instalment depicts a boy re-enacting a halcyon trip into the woods with his family. His hand-carved toys transport him from a bustling classroom to a day playing fetch with the dog, flying through the air on a tyre swing, and enjoying a lift from dad. A neat way of conveying our desire to travel.

Good Egg’s Lisa Gunning has directed a trio of films for Mini imagining the great escape. Gunning’s ability to capture the minutiae of life is apparent for all to see as town and country blend into one. This swimmer finds herself sharing her pool time with the freestyle masses. Far from offering respite, it’s an ocean of noise. Before taking to the water, she imagines another place - a beach all to herself, water without lanes, and waves to be surfed.

Channel 4's foray into bespoke advertising continues with a new ad for the Mini Countryman featuring the station's regular presenter Rick Edwards. It seems life in the big city can be a bit too much at times for our man Edwards, and his favourite way to soothe the nerves is to swim along the local waterways. It's an interesting approach using the broadcaster's talent roster to convey the advertised vehicle's adventurous spirit.

This Mini ad focuses on what drives us in both senses of the word. In the case of this particular gentleman, its the pursuit of perfection which gets him out of bed in the morning. Shown to be a studious craftsman, the implication is that someone with this attention to detail will desire a car with the same design philosophy - something the Clubman will satisfy.

Mini go against their name with this feature-length launch ad for their new convertible model. A record producer comes to realise the error of his ways by experiencing the same day multiple times, with the advertised vehicle his vessel to enlightenment. While the running time stretches the premise and the audience's connection with the protagonist, it illustrates the brand's ambition with some light touches helping to enliven proceedings.

This 30" edit of Mini's lengthy launch film for their new convertible model naturally doesn't have much room for plot or character development. Instead, the car is shown cruising around Miami with its paint job complementing the city's pastel-shaded landmarks. Meanwhile, various supers encourage us to keep on, well, keeping on.

Another teaser for Mini's arrival in America has soccer star Abby Wambach - among others - offering a pronouncement about the vehicle, which she anticipates will be: "This is a gay car". Others in the ad variously call it small, or a chick car, or slow, or cute. As we already know, it is in fact - as Harvey Keitel reminds us - a car that defies labels.

The Mini brand doesn't want to be pigeonholed as a cute, retro British car, we presume from this spot featuring Harvey Keitel; one of six actors talking about the car in an upcoming Superbowl commercial. His conversation segues from the notion of being labelled when you're an actor, to the way the Mini - which he's been driving, defies assumptions.

This spot ties in to the concept promoting the Mini Clubman by Crispin Porter Bogusky London, called 'The Cultural' and comprising several online films about people who do what their gut instinct dictates. Slightly sombre, the ad imparts the fact that we usually know within seven seconds whether we love something, and that its impact leaves us speechless.

Spike the dog isn't sure about the new Mini that his owner is trying to entice him into. He appears to be thinking it all looks a bit newfangled as he sniffs the exhaust cautiously, like he would another dog's bottom. But then his natural pragmatism reasserts itself as he tells himself he's not responsible for driving the bloody thing, so hops in and enjoys the ride.

A man gets into a car and... no, it's not the start of a rubbish joke; he really does get into a car... and realises that he can't drive away because the steering wheel isn't there. Then he remembers he now owns a new Mini which has five doors, and gathers that through force of habit he's opened the first door he reached for and expected to land in the driver's seat.

A confused and anxious dog refuses to get into his owner's car... because inexplicably it suddenly has extra doors. That's because it is in fact a new car - his owner has bought a new Mini to replace his old one; only this is a five door version. As soon as he opens the front passenger side, 'Spike' hops in as if order has been restored. Sweet and simple.

Apparently the new original Mini arrives imminently. Hmm. The new original? Doesn't that make it just new? Anyway, we're treated to the sight of lots of new originals collapsing domino-style in a car park before one of them, sans driver, takes to the road. We're not sure what else to tell you, except that there would seem to be a lot of colour options.

A series of scenarios featuring the Mini appears to suggest that its manufacturers are hoping to sell the iconic vehicle to people suffering from a degree of restlessness that warrants medical intervention. They make it look a positively dangerous proposition... which probably makes it appealing to teenage boys who've grown up watching Top Gear.

This cute commercial for Mini manages to make the vehicle look perfect for cool, young urbanites. The unconventional fellow driving it either lives in his garage or parks his car in his living room - it's hard to say which. And from the look of things, he's such a cool dude that nobody in his neighbourhood expects him to pay for anything.

A series of red, white and blue minis with specially adapted horns render a version of the national anthem on this patriotic piece of Jubilee / Olympics advertising. Since minis in these colours always bring to mind The Italian Job, we were expecting Quince Jones's 'Getta Bloomin' Move On' instead of 'God Save The Queen'... and, frankly, we'd have preferred it.

A pair of young men are in a spot of bother having put their Mini over the edge of a pier. They begin discarding stuff in a bid to regain their equilibrium and swiftly discover that their wallet has to go. Is this an unfortunate metaphor though? After all, these cars cost a fair bit.

An utterly surreal collection of bumpers advertising the sponsorship of The Jonathan Ross Show by Mini. These are unusual because each bumper builds on the last... it's a bit like The Twelve Days of Christmas in that sense but with its own distinctive and strange vibe.
