Having previously covered writers and eccentric musicians, this fun Squarespace campaign turns to the Magic Circle. Weíre told there are ten thousand, nine-hundred and-eighty-seven magicians, conjurers, and general enchanters on the circuit. Fortunately, the website builder can help these performers stand out online. Now thatís magic.

"Danny Bowien"

15 Sep 2017
The third of Squarespace's stylish trilogy of films sees chef and restaurateur Danny Bowien explaining his website. The pastel palette here complements the food photography and carefully-designed visuals, despite the odd choice of music. It's a risky move to include 'pretentious' in the script - it could easily be an own goal - but this film pulls it off.

Chefs, fashion designers, now contemporary artistsÖ Squarespace have creatives in their sights. Daniel Arsham takes his art - all gravity-defying hourglasses and uncanny feng shui - very seriously. The advertised website builder ensures his craft is well-represented, while modish production design appeals to refined audiences.

This colourful ad for Squarespace introduces us to Sadie Williams, a fashion designer who stands out from the crowd. While she may not be the best choice to deliver a voiceover, the stylish visuals put Williams' clothes on display with aplomb. Graphic and colourful, the design work here shows off what a well-built website can do for a brand's image.

"Storytellers"

Another ultra-stylish ad for website builder Squarespace sees a collection of writers - sorry, storytellers - tapping away at their latest masterpiece. There's a 'thousand monkeys writing Shakespeare' joke implied here, which only drives home the brand's point about standing out from the crowd online. The classical soundtrack is a lovely touch, choreographed perfectly with the visuals.

According to Squarespace, there are one-hundred-and-thirty-two bands called Atlas. Quite a leap from Spinal Tapís Originals/New Originals quandary. Eleven make the cut in this entertaining Squarespace ad. While the brand canít guarantee dibs on your band name, they can help you stand out from the e-crowd.

John Malkovich has built his reputation on being other, gently menacing versions of himself. And even as he turns from acting to fashion design, some things don't change. This Super Bowl campaign for website building service SquareSpace shows him trying to maintain his cool on discovering someone has already taken the domain name JohnMalkovich.com.

"How To Reinvent A Classic"

A trio of enjoyable ads has Squarespace at the centre of both personal and professional projects, but this film in particular is a satisfying story of how the quest for the perfect grilled cheese sandwich grew into a New York favourite. The film depicts how Little Muenster evolved from experiments in a frying pan by making sure taste buds were tantalised online.

One of three well-crafted ads for Squarespace showing how the website builders can help give your professional or personal project a leg-up. This treatment shows how premium fashion label Abasi Rosborough used the service to build both their name and their client base through one tailor-made website. Visually appealing work with equally strong sound design.

One of three well-crafted ads for Squarespace showing how the website builders can help give your professional or personal project a leg-up. This savvy couple decided to take their wedding plans online with their own website dedicated to the big day, leaving guests with no excuse when it comes to accommodation or directions. A fine example of 60" storytelling.

"A Better Web Awaits"
30s
30 Jan 2014
A legion of people representing the hazards of tacky internet claims on your attention pursue an ordinary chap down a fantastical city street. What's going to happen? The tension grows... oh, nothing. Nothing's going to happen. Four seconds from the end we switch to a calm environment and a soothing VO telling us that with the service in question, you can help build a better internet by having a decent website. We feel quite deflated now. We wanted zombies coming out of the screen.
