Another pleasingly bizarre ad for the National Lottery's Scratchcards sees Harriet return for a second blind date. Jennie Bond narrates as we await the latest suitor with bated breath - only for him to come with a rather unusual accessory. Amusing, well constructed work which embraces its own weirdness to great effect.

It seems former royal correspondent Jennie Bond has found her new calling… as a blind date pundit. Bond lends her dulcet tones to this 30” Lotto Scratchcards ad. Coin in hand, a woman gradually reveals her mystery man. Despite a promising start, the whole amateur magician thing could be a dealbreaker. Still, you never know what you’re going to get.

This communicates the idea that your life could change in the blink of an eye with the right lottery scratch card. It's a difficult task to make ads like these stand out from each other, and this does well to convey that moment where time appears to stand still as your numbers - with all their potential - are revealed.

Giant numbers appear on the landscape to illustrate the news that a bingo-based scratch card has returned to your nearest newsagent. The existence of these games always feels like the seedier side of the National Lottery proposition and the advertising appears to reflect that.

A CGI version of the little dog from Monopoly precariously crosses the road to congratulate a punter who's just won a million quid. Apparently, six of the cards waiting in newsagents and supermarkets will reward wide-eyed optimists with an unlikely win.

Scratchcard wins are represented by small pops and confetti-like displays as people go about their daily business. It's a clever way of suggesting that the wins will bring a moment or two of happiness without claiming that the sums won are, in any way, life changing.

A huge number of cars are transported through the streets using some crafty CGI jiggery pokery. The proposition being illustrated is the opportunity to win cars using scratchcards provided by the National Lottery.

This commercial set in the future has an elderly woman showing off her photographs to her grandchildren. It appears that she and her husband won a fortune and were able to take expensive holidays for the rest of their lives.

This ad is inspired by a tie-in between the National Lottery and the new Indiana Jones film. Recalling a scene from Raiders Of The Lost Ark, a leather-jacketed man holds on to a whip attached to the back of a vehicle... but following a lottery win he finds himself water-skiing instead.
