Sky Q have wrangled Idris back into the white void for another amiable ad. They present a familiar problem: the inconvenient need for sleep during a telly marathon. Rather than flop around on the sofa valiantly trying to stay awake, Idris informs us that Sky Q have ensured customers can pause and pick up where they left off later. He doesn't say anything about actually sleeping, though.

With James Nesbitt presumably still unpacking his Sky bundle, Idris Elba returns to extol Sky Q's benefits. The ever-enthusiastic actor highlights the number of sports, movies, and programmes one can watch in Ultra HD quality... including Elba's latest telly venture, Guerilla. Still, the man's far too modest to draw attention to it.

Sky Q's recording options merit a "Get in!" from Idris Elba in this latest ad promoting the telly box. It's hard to stop Elba once he's on the move, but the broadcaster has him covered. Customers can now watch recorded shows on their mobile devices without 3G, 4G, or Wi-Fi - meaning Elba can stay entertained while travelling through this mysterious white void.

We're back in Idris Elba's swish flat as the actor provides more information about Sky Q. The latest feature to get Elba excited is the ability to watch whatever's playing on the main Sky box in any room. This means he can zip from the sofa to the exercise room without missing any of the action. No faffing around with wires also ensures that chic pad of his stays pristine.

Sky Q's advertising has delivered on the visual front, but less so on providing tangible details about the "next generation box". Luckily, Idris Elba is at home. The broadcaster's ebullient spokesman informs us that said box can record four programmes at once, while - "BOOM!" - letting us watch a fifth at the same time. A great ad for Elba and a pretty good ad for Sky too.

A two storey flat plays host to this demonstration of Sky Q's streaming abilities. This scene from 'The Walking Dead' is an odd choice perhaps - maybe the sight of guts and gore bouncing up from the living room to the bedroom would have been too harrowing for the squeamish. The ad doesn't tell us anything new, unfortunately, but at least it serves to remind us the service exists.

The VFX boffins behind Sky Q's launch campaign produce another colourful depiction of the broadcaster's new device-to-device streaming technology. This execution focuses on what will be a tempting hook for parents - keeping children engrossed in Peppa Pig from living room to car seat. Visually arresting work, though all we need now are concrete details about Sky Q's requirements to accompany the flying globules.

Sky is introducing a new feature which emulates one of Netflix's cleverest aspects: the ability to seamlessly watch content across multiple screens. Instead of having to remember where you were up to and fast-forward, Sky - like Netflix - now enables you to move to a new device and simply pick up from where you left off.
