1. HomeAway - The Whole House
Parks & Recreation’s Nick Offerman performs an ode to the great family getaway for HomeAway.
His droll delivery of the rhyming script succeeds where chirpier VOs would arguably fail. Our personal favourite line? ‘Forget the in-tray/You’ve got a bidet’.
2. Yorkshire Tea - Blessed Are The Teamakers
Colin - the 'head brewer, perfection pursuer' - is the 'tea-jay' of his office, and he's here to tell us all about it in this cracking ad by Rubber Republic for Yorkshire Tea.
With his low-rider trolley and shawl-collared cardi, Colin is a rapper extraordinaire with Northern fire in his belly and a take-no-prisoners attitude.
3. Paddy Power - Goal
Paddy Power have released a number of great musical ads recently, and this may be the best. This excellent ad shows a disabled fan making his way into a football ground for his regular communion at the altar of his idols.
He brilliantly describes aspects of the experience via a bastardised version of Spandau Ballet's 'Gold' culminating in a perfectly-timed celebration of a 'Goal'.
4. Sainsbury's - Food Dancing
W+K have placed Orange Supermarket at the forefront of a new movement called #fooddancing, launching the campaign via an ad with an earwormy soundtrack from MysDiggi.
Siri Bunford's film - like the food prepared in the majority of British homes - has been carefully crafted to look like it's been thrown together rather than skillfully assembled using tweezers, giving the whole thing an air of authenticity. Bold stuff.
5. Finish - I love Doing Dishes
Benjamin Franklin famously said that 'nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes'... and doing the washing up, according to Finish.
They dive back into the existential angst in this musical ad, examining the relentless cycle of dish-doing through a forcibly-cheery musical number.
