OB42 LAND CHRIS MORRISH. |
|
20 September 2024 |
|
It's a case of the Morrish, the merrier as director Chris Morrish joins OB42 for representation in the UK and the US. Whether you know him as Chris, Christopher, or CD, the man from Birmingham is happy as can be. |
"It's great to join OB42, with real film making pedigree in 42 and a truly visionary approach in advertising with Otis, Clancie, and the team," Morrish says. "I couldn't be more excited to see the work we will make together." Now would be a good time to look back to look forward, eh?
The future is now, claims this slick Adidas commercial. We learn how the brand's 'Speedfactory' shoes reach the city streets. While a NASA-style narrator extols "data-driven design" and "open source co-creation", urban runners push their new shoes to the limit. It's a polished insight into the sportswear giant's automated methods. Morrish shifts between human and mechanical endeavour, while a muted palette ensures each splash of colour stands out. The result is enough to intrigue serious-minded joggers worldwide.
Next, he and Jaguar tap DJ and producer Marc Kinchen aka MK to discuss the creative process in this new campaign for the marque's F-Pace. While celebrity connections can often feel tenuous, Kinchen's obvious affinity for tech and passion around being a self-proclaimed "gear guy" mean his appreciation for the model's enhanced features rings true enough. It can also be difficult to convince the casual driver that such bells and whistles are necessary, so it's a canny approach for Jaguar to take. Morrish enhances Kinchen's personal musings with a blend of contemporary and retro footage.
