Following their signing of director Julian Marshall, Dog Eat Dog have grown their commercial roster further with Matthäus Bussmann.
With a showreel that oozes cool across a wide variety of formats and genres (from polished car work to evocative mood pieces and visceral dramas), Bussmann brings his distinctive visual flair to DED's UK stable.
Originally from Frankfurt and of German and Italian descent, the director has been fascinated by the cultural power of film from a young age. This passion for the medium shines through his work, and he doesn't shy away from celebrating his influences as he creates something new.
What a great start with this global campaign we just won together. I am looking forward to some interesting future collaborations with DED.
It's this commitment to embracing the vitality and ever-shifting nature of film which initially drew DED's attention, as Mark O'Sullivan, co-founder and executive producer, explains: "We are delighted to welcome Matthäus, an old friend and fantastically versatile director, to our roster in London. Matthäus is a grown up with a film etiquette that is fresh and always pushing forward."
Never one to rest on his laurels, Bussmann is jumping into things feet-first at his new home - his first project with Dog Eat Dog is already in pre-production.
The director commented on his signing: "I met Mark as we were in talks about a feature film a few years ago. Now I am psyched to be represented by his company DED for commercials in the UK. And what a great start with this global campaign we just won together. I am looking forward to some interesting future collaborations with DED."
