ACCLAIMED DIRECTOR MAUREEN HUFNAGEL JOINS ELEANOR
11 November 2024

Maureen Hufnagel, a director whose superpower appears to be bringing crazy visions to life, has joined Kate Elson's growing band of directorial talent at Eleanor London. Hufnagel is overflowing with excitement at this development, saying "I feel a strong connection to Eleanor’s mission of pushing boundaries and championing diverse voices. The UK market is known for its creativity and its openness to new ideas, and I can’t wait to collaborate with brands here to create something that resonates on a global scale."

A trio of Hufnagel's recent projects exemplify her love of a big scene, and amply demonstrate there's no challenge that could faze her. First up is a film for Max called 'Launch' which encapsulates the full range of cinematic and televisual wonder available through the advertised platform.

Ambitious in scale, it benefits hugely from Hufnagel’s ability to orchestrate as much of the film as possible in camera as this underlines the message about the epicness of the advertised service, and ensures that the audience is in doubt that Max is where you turn if you want the full gamut of entertainment.

There's a sci-fi quality to Hufnagel’s commercial for Faleabella as a modernistic train station is used as a metaphor for the array of options available at the advertised department store. The film's grandiosity helps to land the idea that the retailer is somewhere you can expect to find whatever you are looking for.

Finally, this short, sweet commercial for Coca Cola encapsulates the idea that football is the great equaliser, if you'll forgive the pun, as a senior manager and a junior intern are united in joy when their team scores a goal. The intimacy of the moment is caught perfectly by Hufnagel's camera, cementing Coca Cola's association with the world's most popular sport.

Kate Elson says of her new signing: "Maureen’s mastery of intricate visual storytelling and her ability to weave sharp humour into even the most ambitious projects sets her apart, She brings a level of precision and creativity that turns every frame into a captivating moment. I’m beyond excited to welcome her to the Eleanor family."
