Negotiating the sensitivities surrounding 'In House' was a tricky but valuable experience: "It involved sourcing freelance directors, and talking to production companies to find out whether they're willing to loan out their directors... I ended up going beneath the radar... but everybody is well aware of the nuances of the situation and it was all very above aboard."
She decided to join Bullion because she feels they're attuned to the Zeitgeist: "They know exactly what's going on with the younger generation and all their stuff right now is very exciting. It's definitely got an energy that I haven't seen before... their music videos are so different. Their documentaries are so forthcoming. Vice are so interested in the work they're doing."
She's excited to be part of it because she feels their moment has come: "They've been around for about five years, and now they've just reached a really good moment where they're just ready to take the next step."
What Flo Clive can't quite bring herself to say is that Bullion's decision to hire her is a significant expression of their ambition... but it is. She's an impressive and highly informed figure and you immediately sense you're talking to someone who would enhance the credibility of any production company.
Founding partners James Willis, Jack Newman and Ben Murray are all directors in their own right, and they have diverse portfolios with an emphasis on work with an obvious appeal to the youth market.
Ben Murray was among those behind the hit BBC3 comedy 'People Just Do Nothing' while Jack Newman's documentaries for the BBC and Viceland has seen him identified as a rising star in the genre, and James Willis is - according to Flo Clive - "dominating the football documentary aspect of things."
Beyond the founders there are a further nine directors on the Bullion roster and even though she'd only been with the company for a fortnight when we spoke, Flo is bubbling with enthusiasm about them. It is - she says - a roster "with its ear to the ground" and she's really looking forward to getting the attention of everyone agency-side and telling them all about the talent at her disposal.
