NEXUS STUDIOS WELCOME PATRICK OSBORNE.
24 June 2020

Nexus Studios have welcomed Oscar-winning director Patrick Osborne to their commercial roster.

The Cincinnati native has a wealth of experience relating to both big-budget animation projects and smaller titles. He worked on hit Disney films including 'Wreck-It Ralph', 'Tangled' and 'Frozen', before earning an Academy Award for his directorial debut, 'Feast'.

Centred on a dog whose goal in life is to share his owner's plate, the film charts a blossoming relationship in charming fashion. Boasting tactile animation and expressive character design, it's a heartwarming example of the storytelling talent Nexus have brought on to their team.

Osborne isn't one to shy away from experimentation, either. His use of innovative technology for the Google Spotlight Story 'Pearl' won critical acclaim and another Academy Award nomination in 2017.

Following the relationship between a father and daughter throughout their lives together, the short film once again emphasises Osborne's emotional intelligence as a director, as well as his gift for telling stories with or without dialogue.

Nexus Studios founder and Executive Creative Director Christopher O'Reilly is understandably excited about the new addition to the roster. He says: "Patrick is a captivating storyteller and one of the most exciting talents working in animation.

"He has a curiosity for the world that informs both his stories and how he goes about making them. We share and respect his vision for the future of animation and are delighted to welcome him to the Nexus Studios roster of talent."
