IRENE BAQUÉ AND DOG EAT DOG TEAM UP

Documentary director Irene Baqué is the latest talent to join the roster at Dog Eat Dog.

Baqué makes emotionally resonant films which tell underrepresented stories, championing voices which may otherwise never get their moment in the spotlight. From exploring issues around gender and sexuality to charting the nuances of youth culture and social justice, her films are as informative as they are entertaining.


A documentary background explains the crisp quality of Baqué's visuals, which at once observe humanity's strange beauty and ugliness while never getting lost in them. It's this distinctive aesthetic, combined with her conscientious approach to narrative, which first drew Dog Eat Dog's attention.

Dog Eat Dog's founder and executive producer, Harvey Ascott, says it was a case of cinematic love at first sight: “When I first saw Irene's work, it felt real, raw and beautiful. The way she crafts stories makes her work so engaging. We are really excited to have Irene join us at Dog Eat Dog. I know we can make some fantastic work together!"


Meanwhile, Baqué is equally excited to make her advertising debut, and is ready to give it all she's got with Dog Eat Dog's backing. "I'm really excited to go a step further, bringing my skills and visuals into the commercial world," Baqué says. "Working with Dog Eat Dog is going to further develop me as a filmmaker and a storyteller."
