DIRECTORS OF PHOTOGRAPHY Are you one of the best twenty-five cinematographers working in advertising? You are? Then you should be on this list.
Filipino filmmaker Marius Talampas is the latest addition to Curate's open-minded roster. Dan Dickenson and Madeleine Sanderson are always on the lookout for clever, kooky talent, and Talampas definitely fits the bill.
Take his recent spot for delivery company GrabFood where a boy has a thumb growing from his forehead. Talampas skilfully blends physical comedy, straight-faced performances, and a case of mistaken identity, while also stressing the importance of customer service to the brand.
It's a strong calling card for Talampas and Filipino advertising at large. The Manila-based director is represent proud to his country on the global stage, so expect plenty of flair and enthusiasm from him at Curate.
In the meantime, check out this madcap commercial for household products brand Cheers. When stains, spillages, and leftovers spell certain doom, each family member responds with daft grins and even crazier dance moves. Cling film has rarely been used with such gusto until now.
