COLIN HESTERLY HEADS TO PARTIZAN STUDIO
23 January 2019

Renowned animation director Colin Hesterly has signed to Partizan's animation arm, Partizan Studio.

The California native has been working as an animator, illustrator, and director for a number of years, having kicked off his career in the industry as a freelance artist. After gaining experience working for brands all over the world, he has become known for his impeccable 2D animation work and character-driven stories.

I am beyond excited to join the brilliant directors and artists within the Partizan roster. Their approach and flare have inspired my work for many years now.

 ”

A self-proclaimed 'Tiki enthusiast', Hesterly considers himself an animator first and illustrator second. This allows him to produce work at a considerable pace, and his clean, graphic style makes him an adaptable storyteller.

From critically-acclaimed short films to branded content for the likes of Disney and USPS, his reel points to a talent at the forefront of modern American animation. With a stylish approach to narrative and a good dollop of whimsy and nostalgia, it's no wonder Partizan are enthusiastic about their latest acquisition.

Partizan's Animation EP Duncan Gaman explains: "[Colin] is achieving a look and feel that larger US-based studios are outputting, but by having him work in smaller teams the purity and sense of personality in his creative vision shines through. We're excited by the prospect of combining those qualities with the global production capability of Partizan Studio."

As for the man himself, Hesterly says: "I am beyond excited to join the brilliant directors and artists within the Partizan roster. Their approach and flare have inspired my work for many years now. Together, we will continue to expand and build my whimsical approach to creating beautifully crafted films."
