BOLD SCORE A HAT-TRICK.

Why double your pleasure when you can treble it? That's what inspired production company BOLD to sign directors Conor Byrne, Ezra Hurwitz, and Jon Jon 'JJ' Augustavo in one fell swoop.

The three join for exclusive UK representation, which makes company founder Rob Godbold happier than Larry. So what made Byrne, Hurwitz, and Augustavo stand out from the pack? Keep reading to find out more...

1. Conor Byrne


Conor Byrne made his commercial debut as a child actor in a car insurance ad, but refused to let the experience go to his head. The New Jersey native studied film at Wesleyan University instead, and soon found his voice as a comedy director.

2. Ezra Hurwitz


A former professional ballet dancer, Ezra Hurwitz brings a refined aesthetic and innate understanding of movement to his work across commercials, short films, and music videos. BOLD are now keen to see him flourish on the UK stage.

"When I saw Ezra's Inside & Outwards' in 2020 I was hooked," Godbold says. "Obviously, he is a master of choreography yet that does not define him—he brings a refined aesthetic, dynamic cinematography and strong visual narrative to all his work."


3. JJ Augustavo


Jon Jon Augustavo (or JJ, if you're pushed for time) made a splash in 2013 when he directed not one, not two, but three acclaimed promos for rapper and fellow Seattleite Macklemore. Since then he's added TVCs and short films to his repertoire, which pleases Goldbold no end.

"We are so impressed with JJ's work as the Macklemore and Sport England films ooze heart and soul from every frame. Being award-winning is one thing, but also accruing the public vote with literally billions of hits on YouTube is true approval."
