THIBAULT-THÉODORE SIGNS TO BIRTH

Birth have signed up and coming French director and photographer Thibault-Théodore to their roster. The move coincides with the launch of their luxury brand division, Birth LX.

With a background in modelling and theatre, Théodore is a visual artist who understands the rigours of composition, atmosphere, and creating the most compelling mood for a project. His work is often experimental in nature, and experience both in front of and behind the camera means he encourages collaboration with others in all aspects of his work.

Théodore has a deeply cinematic aesthetic, and uses his distinctive eye for detail to bring a sense of dark romanticism into the modern era. Whether dealing with the fundamentals of beauty or nuances of intersectionality, his work aims to surprise viewers.


His brooding music promo for singer-songwriter Yseult's 'Bad Boy' uses shibari ornamental rope bondage to explore sensuality from a bold new angle. The film celebrates power dynamics, positive images of Black bodies, and the paradoxes of love and surrender - the sumptuous execution of which fits in perfectly with Birth's vision.

Executive producer Yohan Ungar says: "Thibault has a unique personality and universe which allows him to raise debate and discussion, allowing real reflection with artists and brands.
