CALI BONDAD JUST WANTS TO FEEL. |
|
1 March 2024 |
|
Feel Films now have Cali Bondad on the books on both sides of the Atlantic. Her credits include 'Our Voices Are Rarely Heard', a short documentary about California's Pelican Bay State Prison and its isolated inmates. |
MD and executive producer Lou Gagen says: "I am ecstatic to have Cali as part of our carefully expanding yet curated roster at Feel. Cali is already established, with a growing reputation in the US market, but I'm looking forward to developing that to the next level together, as well as introducing her to the UK market."
Shot in a day by Bondad and her tight crew, the film was Vimeo Staff Picked for its portrayal of isolation and prison culture, both in the prison and in nearby Crescent City. When Feel Films sat down to watch it, along with a bunch of commercials, they knew she belonged on their roster. Gagen adds: "Cali has a great instinct for story and the human experience together with a deep curiosity and passion to reflect both the minutiae and the majesty of the world around her, all through a diverse lens. The cherry on the cake is that she's simply a fantastic human being with heart and that's a joy to be around." |
“ |
It's about creating a feeling, sharing a human message, and producing a cinematic piece that has lasting power. |
” |
|
And what does Bondad have to say about all this? "What initially attracted me to their shop was the relationship I began building with the EPs, Lou Gagen and Nick Hirschkorn. Aside from being fantastic human beings, their level of production experience and expertise was very exciting and empowering. "Both of them are seasoned producers that approach their projects with a level of detail and an artful elegance that comes from a deep appreciation for filmmaking. We agree that it's about creating a feeling, sharing a human message, and producing a cinematic piece that has lasting power."
