IT'S GREAT GUNS FOR CHARLEY STADLER. |
|
5 September 2024 |
|
Off the back of a cheeky commercial for craft beer makers BRLO, Charley Stadler has cause for a celebratory drink. The director has joined Great Guns for representation in the UK, the US, Asia, and the Middle East, much to the delight of CEO and founder Laura Gregory. |
"Charley is a whirlwind," she says. "He doesn't understand the phrase, "We can't do that". He pushes for creativity with his unique brand of humour and drama and is a trusted partner to many brands. That's an important asset to have as we navigate the new world."
In Los Angeles, managing executive producer Michel Waxman is stoked, to say the least: "Charley is an ideal partner for clients hoping to stand out and make an impact! His expertise and fearlessness allows him to deconstruct comedy, narrative, and technology to build a stronger unique voice that never holds back!" Stadler voices his pleasure like so: "It's been a while since I've had representation in the UK and the US. I've lived in both countries and love their output in terms of creativity, mindset, humour, and storytelling—it was a no-brainer when Kojo Abban reached out to me, and I got to chat to the EPs in London, Los Angeles, and Asia. I am flattered to be collaborating with such a cool, well-known brand like Great Guns."
Stadler's brand awareness came to the fore in January this year, just days after Calvin Klein and Jeremy Allen White went viral. The German takes great care to film his star Gerrard Woodward with the same level of adoration as Allen White is filmed in the ad which inspired this. This is important, as it would feel like a horrible misstep if it felt as though it was making fun of Woodward's physique. In fact, it's perfectly respectful and a reminder that different body types appeal to different people. Thanks to Stadler's assured touch, both brands benefit from a great parody.
