WARD JOINS PULSE FILMS. |
|
7 December 2022 |
|
Director Paul Ward (or WARD, if you need to shout) has joined Pulse Films for UK and US representation. Born in Johannesburg and raised in Cape Town, Ward found his voice as a photographer knee-deep in local subcultures. |
When a client asked if he'd ever considered film, Ward took a punt that’s paid off in spades. Demand for his services comes from all over the world, with high-profile campaigns for Adidas, Nike, and Guinness under his belt and plenty more on his radar.
His Guinness spot tells the story of Miracle, a football fanatic who wears a suit made of football jerseys and 'commentates' with a gold microphone. He's also blind, so brother Adidemi fills in the gaps only when necessary ("Football is not just about what you see, but what you feel"). |
“ |
WARD is one of the most exciting rising talents out there, and we are honored to be in his corner. |
” |
|
Most people associate Guinness with rugby union, but when the brand visit Africa, football reigns supreme. The ad itself is a treat for the senses, with remote control buses that zip along the floor and a multi-storey car park spin on cage football. Of course, the taste of Guinness Foreign Extra Stout also plays a key role.
Such work leads Pulse Films president Davud Karbassioun to say: "WARD's output creates a feeling that can't be easily put into words, bringing a welcome fresh perspective to filmmaking. He is one of the most exciting rising talents out there, so we are honored to be in his corner and excited about the journey ahead." The last word goes to Ward himself: "I've always admired Pulse Films, from the high quality of work and impressive roster, to the diversity of work and the way it was communicated. After chatting with Dav and the team, it was clear we have shared values and a like-minded approach to film making. To be a part of the Pulse family is a dream come true, and I cannot wait to see what we can achieve together."
