COMMON PEOPLE SIGN PETER PINT
28 February 2021

Common People Films have signed Portuguese director Peter Pint for commercial representation.

A passionate storyteller with a forensic eye for detail, Pint's reel is flush with beautifully-designed work that delivers on both narrative and aesthetic levels. A background in theatre and acting means he's adept at drawing apt performances from his cast, something which enhances the emotionally resonant nature of his films.

A Father's Day outing for Vodafone, for instance, focuses on the private vigil of a man whose child will always be his baby. Delicately shot, the film captures both the enduring love of a parent and the liminal feeling of a night-time home perfectly - in addition to slipping in just a touch of humour at the very end.

[Pint's] depth of understanding into the technical side of filmmaking brings energy and pace to his work.

 ”

In addition to this zest for performance, Pint is interested in pushing the envelope when it comes to what's possible visually: "I'm really excited to push the boundaries and integrate VFX more in my work, and I know the team at Common People are great in this space - something to look forward to this year."

Indeed, this engaging Starbucks commercial shows off the sort of on-camera tricks Pint is already able to achieve. Making good use of a fast and loose perspective and slick editing, it suggests Common People are onto a winner with their latest signing.

Executive producer Emily Crofton-Atkins says: "Peter delivers - time and again - genuine, emotive performances. His depth of understanding into the technical side of filmmaking brings energy and pace to his work. He can turn his hand to comedy too, but it's developing this technical narrative that drives him. We are delighted to welcome Peter to our talented roster."
