MJZ ARE THREE AND EASY.
7 September 2023

Much-coveted directors Charlotte Wells, Halina Reijn, and Matilda Finn have joined MJZ for global representation. All three arrive in tremendous form, with a bunch of acclaimed feature films and music videos between them.

First in the door is Charlotte Wells, the writer and director of 'Aftersun'. Her evocative debut struck a chord with critics and audiences alike thanks to its soulful performances, insightful script, and MiniDV visuals. Now she's on the books at MJZ, expect the BAFTA-winning Scot's career to shine even brighter.

She's followed by Halina Reijn, an actor-turned-director with a taste for extreme violence and gore. Both feature in 2022's 'Bodies, Bodies, Bodies', a satirical slasher movie that skewers Gen Z culture with multiple sharp objects. The Dutch director's grasp of pace and tone is clear for all to see, and bodes well for her next project, whatever bloody/non-bloody form it takes.

Last but not least is Matilda Finn. Before he went mad on 'The Idol', The Weeknd shocked fans in 2022 when his older self appeared in the promo for 'Gasoline'. It's now one of Finn's signature works, which explains why she uses Abel Tesfaye's wizened mug as her publicity shot. Mystery and misdirection permeate her reel, and MJZ cannot wait to see where Finn's instincts take her.
