JAKE DYPKA IS A FRIEND INDEED.
17 November 2019

From his early days spent editing martial arts DVDs, award-winning director Jake Dypka has grown into one of the most exciting talents around - and now, Friend London are delighted to announce he's joined their roster.

With a career spanning early work directing Kate Moss for Topshop, poignant short films, and a slew of successful commercial campaigns, Dypka brings plenty of experience to the company's already groaning table.

A recent campaign for translation app Babbel featuring a disoriented alien ironically highlights Dypka's talent for capturing human emotion - ensuring both poignancy and positivity translate to the screen.

In addition to his grasp of all things weird and wonderful, Dypka often combines a traditional documentary style with the odd stylistic floyish. This ensures his films are visually rich yet emotionally honest - something his 2019 campaign for Cancer Research demonstrates with gusto.

Dypka believes his new home respect this kind of approach: "I think Friend represent a very creative presence in our industry. It's a wonderful atmosphere of people who really care about the type of work they're making, and that's the kind of place I want to be."

While Dypka settles into his new surroundings, check out this tongue-in-cheek promo for BBC One's The Apprentice to see how work and play can go hand in hand.
