GREATCOAT FILMS SIGN DYLAN HOLMES WILLIAMS.
4 November 2019

Greatcoat Films have made BIFA-nominated Dylan Holmes Williams the newest addition to their close-knit roster of directors.

Following a string of well-received music videos and short films, Williams becomes the sixth member of founder and managing director Simon Oxley's stable for commercial and promo representation.

Not one to kick his feet up, Williams has already opened his Greatcoat account with Channel 4 Random Act ‘Stilts' - a dystopian short film that demonstrates his knack for grounded works of fantasy and off-kilter production design.

This bold streak continues in Williams's promo work, as shown by this 2017 clip for Artificial Pleasure. In a unique example of human parthenogenesis, a man's offspring emerges 'Alien'-like from his belly and begins to dance. It's brilliantly bonkers, leaving viewers both mildly euphoric and apprehensive about what might happen next.

Greatcoat's Simon Oxley, meanwhile, is "really excited" to see what he and Williams can achieve in the months to come, adding: "Dylan is a super-driven, intelligent filmmaker, who has the determination to make something happen no matter the obstacles."

The director himself says: "I'm delighted to be joining the team at Greatcoat Films. They foster such a collaborative and creative environment, and they're also just a lovely group of people. I can't wait to see what we make together."
